How long did you wait for your Fit ?
#221
i agree with the above, the car is a blast to drive for a little car, and the lower weight makes it seem like it has more then 110hp to use. IMO MT is the only way to go, but i am a little biased. I wouldnt give up on the transmission if thats what you really want, as its a new car, you dont want to be second guessing yourself. Good luck and hang in there!

Not bragging either, I was fortunate enough to find a one week old used one where the previous owner didnt like it because it was hard to see out of. She waited more than 3 months to get it while I waited a day. It was nice since it was decked out already.

I guess we got lucky. I'm changing jobs and needed something economical yet still fun to drive so we researched the Fit on the internet for a few weeks. We drove by the dealer in town Last Friday night and they had a white sport AT. I called another dealer about 25 miles away and they had a red sport AT and a third dealer about 25 miles in the other direction had an orange sport MT. I chose to go test drive the red one and bought it. However, while we were doing the paperwork 2 other people were looking at it and wanted to buy it. I didn't realize how lucky we were until reading the forums on this site.

I was extremely lucky, I only had to wait 11 days, even though it seemed like an eternity because the reason I bought the car was because the old one broke (one car family). So I was stuck borrowing cars while I waited for my Fit to arrive (while family was visiting). The dealer had only the Canadian DX auto Demo on the lot, no other Fits at all. The wait is suppose to be around 3 months, but my salespeople, (one I had previously purchase two other cars from, the other a good friend I knew before he even started selling cars), knowing my situation, helped me get the car sooner. I insisted on a manual, but was open to almost everything else (just no red). That helped my salespeople expedite the delivery for me as well. I ended up with a Alabaster Silver Metallic LX (Canadian only colour, a true silver colour, no blue hue), which is basically the same trim as a US base Fit.

sport AT better deals than base MT?
"OTD was 16800, tinting inlcuded and nothing down."
Wow. You got a sport auto at 16800 and you could just drive it away? That's amazing. Even without tint, that's only $895 above invoice, and otd only $235 above msrp. Jacksan is $1700 over invoice otd.
I guess the sport autos must be a better "value" than the base manuals. In Arizona best I could find for base manual was $16130 otd ordering and $16192 otd arriving a month away. That's $2310 over invoice and $1747 over msrp otd. Of course Arizona has notorious doc fees (mine is $369) and you pay a registration fee of hundreds of dollars ($2.80 X 0.6% of msrp) in lue of personal property tax, so maybe sport ATs go for more here too.

i was looking for a manual a few months ago for me but then postponed it. then 2 days ago i decided to sell my wife's bmw quickly before problems came up. it was getting sketchy. This time I had to go auto so i said do a sport. found 3 JUST came in silver, blue, and black. wifey wanted black. picked it up tonight. paid sticker while other places wanted 500-1000 over. so came out ok.

wow with all these ppl lookin for a manual sport, i should auction mine off, hehehe. i waited about 3 months and paid msrp for a NHBP sport manual, with no deposit down. shoot, the dealership even said that i could pick up the car the day it came in and pay them later if i didn't have time to get a cashier's check! the main reason it came in 3 months was because the build date was a month after i told them i wanted the car, and they halted building fits for about a month in october for some strange reason.

i waited 30 minutes tops. :P i was planning on buying a used civic but i saw 3 fits in front of the dealership. i was like hey that car looks nice. i checked it out. one hour later i bought it. i feel so bad that you guys waited so long for you cars.

I guess I lucked out on my fit, I got mine two days after I heard about it.
After pulling into the dealer, I waited for about 3 hours before I drove off, and that was to get approved for financing, at one point it looked like I was going to the Hyundai dealership next door, but our sales guy pulled through and got it done, and so if anyone in the Dallas area is looking for a Honda Fit, Freeman Honda in Dallas, TX has taken good care of me, in sales and in other times as well (read my other posts in the warranties section) but I have been driving my Fit for 6 months to the day and I'm just now starting to customize it.

It's kinda funny how I ended up with my Fit Sport really...
I went in a couple weekends ago to look for a newer vehicle since my last daily driver went kaput and I had to sell it off. (was a 92 dodge dakota)
I called up my parents who had recently bought a 06 CR-V from South Tacoma Honda, Tacoma, Wa (it's on south tacoma way, near the B&I). They called their salesperson, Ennis (pronounced like tennis, only no "t") and he said he would find some deals for me. I drove over with my gf and we started looking at used cars. I tried the Ridgeline, we both loved the ride but hated the mpg (i drive 100+ miles roundtrip to work). I sat in every 07 they had in the show room and did not fit in any (I'm 6'4", 300lbs). My knee hit the dashboard on every vehicle, minus the Ridgeline. Salesperson has another customer he is selling a car to, besides me. So it takes us all day there to find me a car.
He finally comes over, grabs a brochure, and says, you probably havnt seen or heard of this yet, but I think this is the answer to what you need. It's the Fit brochure.
He takes us outside and points to the sidewalk. There sits this beautiful Blue Fit Sport. I loved it from the minute I saw it and it got better as I drove it. I literally drove the car down the sidewalk ramp (standard wheelchair ramp) and up the ramp without hitting the curb edges! woohoo!
Details on the car: Blue Fit Sport, 5AT, Fit floor mats (need the dealer to put in the holders though), used. Yes, used. It happened to have been owned by a Honda Rep. Rep sold it to the dealer and now I have it. It had 4616 miles when I bought it. It goes in friday for Lo-Jack, Paint, interior and underbody protection, and full service (im not getting charged for full service due to the fact that it didnt get serviced beforehand).
I love this little car though. Decent on gas and a blast to drive.

I ordered my Milano Red AT Sport on 11/11. The dealer just called with the VIN and to say that the Fit is in the States waiting shipment! Yippee! Waiting has been okay, because anticipation can be fun, but I'm ready for it to be here!!!! Actually, we need more time to sell our Honda Prelude.
Is there a site where a VIN can be typed in to find out the location of the car, or do I just have to wait for updates from the dealer?
