How much did you pay for your fit.

All the dealers I've been to in South Carolina are quoting MSRP. I live in Charleston, SC. Rick Hendrick Honda is only getting 1 or 2 a month. However the on Rivers Ave told me last week they were getting 5 in. All but 1 was sold. I'd expect that 5th on to be sold by now.
Funny thing...I went from Rick Hendrick Honda on Savanah Hwy and drove through the lots down to the Rick Hendrick Chevy and was looking at the Cobalts. My wife is interested in them. I don't much care for them. Some salesman roped me into like 45 minutes of BS. OMG...I was so pissed by the time I left there.
BTW the back seat in the in a 4 door Cobalt has only about 6" of room between the edge and the front seats. I'm 5'11" and that's when I had the front seat adjusted for me. My daughter, 8, said it was way to small. She is fairly tall for her age. The guy open up the back door and that was the first thing I noticed. I new right then I didn't want to buy that car. But I played his game LOL Idiot! $16,000 for a base model and the plastics are horrible on the inside. I mean nasty. Not even the higher end cheap plastic. You don't even get good stuff until you're in the $19,000 price range. WTF!
Whatever...we're actually thinking about getting 2 Honda Fits. I want an Orange one and she wants a Blue one, both Sports. I'm undecided on Manual or Auto. I'm going to pressure her for auto, cause she needs the peppiness and that's the best according to ya'll.
Sorry to get off topic
Also the dealers in the Columbia, SC were pretty nice too. They're on a 3 to 4 week list also.

Pay...
I got the base FIT and paid $1000.00 over the posted price... they... the dealer... can do this because they are so rare here in the US of A! But still I like it...
I would post the name of the dealer BUT I get a lot of good deals on take-off's oil changes etc because my son works in parts... get my drift?
And... when the S2000 came out and for at least the new year... they actually got $10000 over list and could not keep the stock. Now they are back close to MSRP...
I visit the dealer when I get my Accord or FIT (only 2300 miles) worked on... and watch the people go out for a ride in the one FIT on the lot and sign the paperwork to buy when they finish the test drive!

she was also charging us all kinds of dealers fees, all i wanted was a car at MSRP. what a bunch of jerks.
anyway i found one in black auto base on the lot for MSRP no funny charges. i even got a better interest rate then i had on the loan i walked in with. i was happy.
this was over the memorial day weekend and every dealer wanted between 200 and 2000 over MSRP. they really thought they were selling gold - i was disgusted by the time i got this car.
if it wasnt for my son i just might be driving a scion.

san francisco bay area, it's the worst place for new cars, 99% of the salesmen i have talked to, very very lack of knowledge, service is bad, non business sense and most of all arragont. all of them ask you to pay more than MSRP, or they will say things like "i will pass on that", "that's below invoice price that you are offering me", etc, sh*t like that. if honda knows they have a group of salesmen talk like that, they will be horrified and shocked....
my honda shopping experience has been so bad when i was looking for the Fit. i didn't know nowadays, salemen are so poor in knowledge and services. until today, i met a saleman, i think he is one of the gold club leader and works for a few honda dealership. 99% of them don't know the car better than you do. and they can't convince you without bring their sale manager out to give you craps.... but anyway, i got it, done with all the stupid sales talk.

is MSRP + dealer price gouging.
MSRP + dealer pretending not to price gouge but adding on window etching and outragous dealer prep charges.
even destination charges are different in the east and west. but thats not much.
so what will make a difference i think to if fit owners got a deal or not is what the starting figure was MSRP + destination + any BS dealer charges or price gouging, and thats that. not any warrenties or taxes or licences.

Oh i never posted what i paid!
heck 15200. for the fit base automatic in black. that is msrp + east coast delivery. 125 paper work dealer fee. to do the license stuff. i bought the car out of state. that was the only other charge the dealer added on. now I added on gap coverage and car care with tire protection coverage. not sure how smart the car care was but wanted to the gap cause i took full financing with no down payment and no trade in.
it all seamed so cheap when the financial manager was showing us the monthly payments. you know "its only penneys a day!" lol. but i didnt have to take it. it was our choice.

I bought mine used
$14,045.93 msrp -5% with destination, tax $1,158.79, and Ca DMV fees $158, = $15,362.72 out the door (OTD), for a storm silver sport 5at. it was preowned, or used with about 500 mi. it was actually a training car from AHM torrance facility, 1919 torrance blvd, Torrance CA, USA. it came without floor mats, and wheel locks, which I had to buy seperate, and I paid $200 for black diamond for window tint. the "Si" badge was $11. serial # 000085. I had to enter the associate lottery from the company vehiclae association (CVA) and they picked my name to be able to purchase it. the standard warranty was transferable. and we bought the grocery holder from walmart, instead of the genuine honda item, I think that was $8.

Wow... Used for $15,400. Nice. Ive seen some used ones on Autotrader in my area for around $17,000. Automatic and over 700miles.
I dont know an exact price. They said Im paying MSRP, destination, and a dealer charge of $599. So around $16,400 without tax, tag, title. Is that too much for a Sport 5speed?

White Sport M/T $15,170 (USD)
Destination $550
Dealer Fee $298
Total (before TN T.T.R.) $16,018
The dealer said the max they could get a buyer to pay for my trade-in was $2500. I pushed and got them to give me an extra $330 for my trade. They said that it would have to come off the Fit price since no buyer would give them over $2500. If they were shooting me straight, then I got my car for....
$16,018
-$330
$15,688 (Before TN tax, title and registration)

$599 is destination charge. msrp changes from model to model, manual to AT, tax and lisence is the only other real charge. "doc fee" is simply a charge for them to have a secratery print the "documents". anything a dealer can add to msrp, is usually gravy. doc fee, vin etching fee, paint protection, all that kind of stuff is usually way-way overpriced, and is where they usually make most of their profits, giggling over how much they overcharged you later in the mens room.

Mandatory Fees
I purchased my Fit one month ago. I didn't want to buy it until I sold my 2004 Ford Focus ZTW wagon privately, because the dealers were only giving $7000-$8000 on trade in value. I still owed $10,500, luckly I keep my cars in top notch condition and sold it for what I owed. I contacted all the dealers in South Florida via the internet. They all responded within an hour or so to let me know if they had any. Almost all the dealers are adding $500 over sticker. Unfortunately the car dealers give themselves a bad name because they can't be honest when giving you the price. I purchased my car at Ed Morse Honda in Rivera Beach, the salesman sent me an e-mail for the Fit Sport with Automatic Transmission for $17019. When I arrived and went over the figures there was a Mandatory $599 dealer fee. I was over 50 miles from home, which kind of sucked. If this happened by the Honda dealer by my house I would have walked out the door. Then the stupid salesperson tells me they make no money selling the Fit. They make money, what do they sell cars for the fun of it!!! So in the end I paid over $18000 for my car, then I added the extended warranty which put this $16500 car to over $19500!!!
