We did it!

Many many thanks to all those that support me and it was great to see so many people out there to support the Race for the Cure.

I had done it years ago and it's grown alot.

Pretty big crowd with competitive runners up front, and bunch of non timed runners and walkers and many families and strollers. There was a 5K and a one mile walk.

The start was congested but eventually thinned out enough to do some running. 9.5 minutes for the first mile, about 9 minutes for the second mile and under 9 for the third mile. Took about 27.5 minutes total and felt tired at the end (humidity? or was it old age?).

I ran with my son who was more energetic than I. At least I am in one piece. I'm glad it's over and that we were able to help in the cause to Fight cancer with the help of people like you, the participants and their familes and the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Hey they had a nice new yellow Mustang GT pace car to start us off.

A final thanks to Marsha M. from Hawaii for her support and donation.

I'm not so injured considering how tired I was at the finish line.

A bit sore in the thighs but OK... didn't miss work or anything.

And my recovering sprained ankle is OK, not worse for wear.

So overall I'm good enough to keep being active. No small feat with my ruptured back discs. That wasn't worsened by the race (my first in the 2 years since my back surgery).

My physical therapist says that as more time passes from the time of the surgery and if you do ok without reinjuring, you can do OK and be active without worsening the problem and require more surgery.
