Nah, the bump stop is just there so your suspension won't bottom out with a metal to metal clank but if that top hat is not all the way tightened when you hit a small bump the play in the strut top hat will meet causing a small clank sound. If you used an impact to tighten the hat down the driver itself will bottom on the top of the strut and won't tighten it all the way down. You have to use that allen and an open end till it stops.

Yeah I did mines with all hand tools and i'm pretty sure it's all the way tight, maybe I need to check them again

my friend had the same problem so what for the back...
so what we did is just a little grease so that it stop making noise...
so far its been great to him no noise...

It's the fronts. I just looked at them the other night and it looked fine. But maybe I just need to check them again

my skunks make noise when i switch from drive to reverse and vice versa. my rears made noise when i first installed, just rotated the spring a little and it went away.

hmm yea that might help alot when i installed mine i made sure it sat right so i didnt have to take it off again and go through hell again..

I believe it was my bump stops that needed to be cut

I think he killed two birds with one stone by taking em off and cutting the bump stop then reinstalling.
