I was driving my car the other day and my air bag light came on, i read my manual but i cant seem to find anything wrong. ive tried disconnecting the battery but no go. is there any other options before i take it to the dealership to get them to reset the codes.

my car is a 07 dx fit w/160k

 

So you're assuming the problem is with the indicator light and not that the indicator light is doing its job and indicating a problem?

Although maybe it's possible that at 160,000 km it's just saying to check it? The owner's manual for my previous car (95 Infiniti G-20) said to inspect the airbag after 10 years, maybe Honda is suggesting roughly the same thing, to inspect after a certain amount of miles? Anybody have that much mileage? Anyway 160,000 km is 100k miles (a round #, is my point) and maybe it's just suggesting that's a starting point to check the airbag?

FWIW for the Infiniti the dealer said all they could do to 'check' the airbag is to make sure it's still there.
