BC meets WA @ Silver Lake thread planner

Alright, so we noticed some interest in getting the Wa freaks and the BC freaks together this summer. I've come up with a good meet up place that's roughly 1.5-2 hrs from the BC/US border.

The place I'm thinking would be great (thanks to ekonetics for bringing it up) is Silver Lake. Knowing what I know about Silver Lake, the best place for multiple cars to meet up and not have alot of parking issues (could be wrong though) would be at Thornton A Sullivan Park. Cars park in a gravel lot (keep your speed down if you like your paint), you can walk all the way down to the lake and we could have a bbq there or something

Here's a link for info on the park http://www.everettwa.org/default.aspx?ID=563

Alright, you can read the thread for the discussion that happened in planning but for now, this is the official plan:

When: June 27, 2009
Where: Silver Lake, Thornton A Sullivan Park, Everett, Wa
Time: Roll-in starts 1230pm.
What to bring: BYOMeat, BYODrinks, cooler, camera, chairs, lake stuff, a good attitude
BBQ time: Start @ 2pm till food is exhausted

You may want to have stopped to get breakfast as the bbq's will be fired up after the normal lunch hour. I am going to rent out the shelter down by the beach if anyone wants to contribute to the cost of this ($65) feel free to either donate the day of or PM for earlier donations.

List of attendees (please don't copy this list, copy the one from the last user that posted it)

* = Either day is ok.

The later in June the better for me. I am going to need a few weeks to financially recover from this trip. I think 20/21 or 27/28 would work best though. The 27/28 weekend is payday for me so that would likely be my best change to have the cash to drive another 800 mile weekend.

We will definately take your payday into decision~ I just looked up google map and Spokane is OMFGWTFBBQ FAR~ You are one DEDICATED FF~

Any chance we can meet somewhere between Seattle, Spokane, and Vancouver? I am looking on google map and it seems so barren in the middle of WA State~

Thanks for the consideration but I'm ok with making the trek. I have been doing it for about 6 years, since I had my Mitsubishi Mirage. On rare occasions I can get some guys to come out my way from the Seattle area and treat them to some really good meets but otherwise I don't mind coming over the mountains. I have had a couple Mirage guys come out from Victoria but that was for a meet that I opened up my home for lodging and provided food the whole weekend. (Which I would gladly do again if I had interest from enough people.)

I would definitely bag the idea of trying to be centralized b/c of my distance along with the BC guys distance. There is nothing past Snoqualmie pass worth having a meet at until you get over to Spokane. Seattle- North is probably the best bet. I'd just get a hotel in Seattle and stay the weekend. Makes the trip much more worth it.

I'm fully down for the 27/28 of june. Do you guys want to just make this a one day event or maybe something held over 2 days? Just curious as to what people want to come down for.

20/21 is a little sketchy for me. 27/28 probably works. And like guinness said if there's a bbq...shoot i'm there for sure.

shall we go with the 27/28th then? Deffinately will be a bbq at silver lake which ever day we decide to be there. BYOM though... makes life a tad easier. But we can get into those kind of specifics later :P

How do you guys feel about a friday night drag race in monroe? 1/8th mile track, good way to work on your launch's and 60 foot times.

OK, lets mark June 27/28th on the calendar then. I think Saturday MAY be a better so those who are from out of town can drive home and still get a day of rest.

Maybe we can start a signup list?

What time are u guys thinking? From when to when? Coz if it's on a Saturday I will try to book the day off.

BYOM is fine, but I'm gonna bring all these chinese style stuff if I'm really gonna show up that day.

Well, let's make it a day thing. How about roll-in as early as 11am?

We can fire the bbq(s) up around 1/2 and have food ready for an early dinner.

Figure leave when you want after food.

I can't say for any local guys but I will prefer be down there sometime around 1-2pm. Maybe some of our guys like to have a breakfast or early lunch before we roll out?

Anyway too early for me to say anything anyway. Once there's a confirmed date I will try to book time off.

hey, we are flexible. I love sleeping in too.

So, tentative... 27th @ silver lake. Roll-in starts 1230pm till 2pm, setup bbq's/whatever between 1230 and 2, bbq's fire up at 2pm.

Anyone have anything else to say on the times or date?
