Fuel Octane

So yeah, I've read the thread in Eco Fit and was just wondering what everybody is running in BC. I know the boosted fits are using 91+, but how about you other fit owners with lightly modded stuff or bolt ons?

I'm running 89 octane right now, I know factory recommends 87 and I know 91 is going overboard so I'm sticking in between now until I'm for SURE 87 is just as good as 89. (I have a feeling there will be an argument in this thread)

So yeah, what are you guys running??

intake and axleback here also, running 87, tried 89 a few times, didn't do anything for me
don't think theres a diff between base and sport model other than number of speakers, aero kit, and rims?

How many KM are you all getting per tank? I think I'm around 389km when the light comes on. =[ How come it's so bad? Even when I shift under 3k - mostly 2500, use cruise control on highways. Should I use cruise control in cities while going lke 60km/h? lol

Speaking about new, is it healthy to try to squeeze in the full 42L in the tank? I tried 40-41ish and was scared it might enter the the relief valve area or the EVAP or something.

(When should I switch to full synthetic??)

There is no point trying to cram gas in the tank just to pump up your MPG numbers. Like you said you could risk gas spilling out or damage fuel system components.

Sumo just switched to full synthetic but I believe hes at around 30,000KM.

I'm using 87 all the time. Switched to synthetic oil around 12000km (2nd oil change), don't see any fuel economy difference after the switch.

i'm on 91? 94? what ever the top grade is at Chevron. I do it for carbon cleaning. I'm also running Mobil1 full synthetic since 10,000KM I'm at 27,000KM right now.

Does your gas tank last more than a week on one fill?
