Something like that

I am installing a French Drain; it is for extra drainage & flood protection, my yard is pretty prone to pooling water right now.

French drain - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I put in some weeping tile and started backfilling it with 40mm drainage rock. I have some filter cloth that goes around the outside of the rock. Once I get finished I have about 2" to put the grass back.

I have been taking pictures as I go, I will put some of them up for you guys.

Should've called me! I have a tool that does that in about 20 minutes!
Really? lol, damn. Although I wanted to hand excavate it just in case I ran into some utilities or other U/G piping.

Sounds like you had yourself quite a weekend.

Won't be able to make it to the meet in a few weeks, I'll be in London hopefully catching Chelsea's final Premier League game!

Have to catch you guys next time!

Mine is pretty overkill, but everything I do is overkill so no suprise there

I basically modeled the whole thing up in CAD to calculate the volumes, I built in a dispersal outfall zone in the front of the yard where it widens out.

I chopped all of the grass out in cubes when I was digging, so now I just have to place it back overtop and POOF... the entire system is hidden underground

Raw Materials;
3 cubic Meters of washed 40mm rock = 275$ (delivered, Burnco)
50' of 4" dia. weeping tile = 40$
50' of 3' wide fiber cloth = 20$

The timing of the first two events sucks for me; I leave on the morning of the 28th for my Vacation... the second falls on my wedding aniversary

(although I will make all 3 as well... a stampede of bulls couldn't stop me )

The lot looks pretty good, pretty new pavement although it has some sloping to it which you have to account for.

Is practically down the street from my house, is great for me
