It really bothers me that they are sitting there saying:
"Oh this is our way to say we value your trust in the Honda Brand" and how they are rewarding people who are doing thier part to be more green.

instead of:
"We are matching the government rebate to provide a fair market against other competitor cars"

I am sorry, but somebody who purchases this car is doing thier part to be more green and also should be thanked for thier trust in the Honda brand the same as the next guy regardless of when they purchased it.

Yeah that figures, people love their cars

An interesting comparo... I was doing some quick power to weight ratios with the Fit, we figure you would need about 170hp at the crank to take on a stock prelude (of course I think the gearing in the lude is a bit taller).

Yeah you can't quite get there without forced induction Wish I could afford the kit... or the premium gas

With some of those turbo or supercharger kits they are producing around 180 at the wheels, so who knows what they are developing at the crank

Too bad nobody offers a smaller (and cheaper) 2 or 3 PSI bolt on supercharger.

I can see where you're coming from Sugarphreak.. I was actually gonna flip when I read about it too, until one of my buddies pointed out that you can still get it after March 20th. Have you called up your Honda dealership about this? I mean you're just 12 days short, I'm pretty sure they can pull some strings if you keep bitching about it.. if it was me I'd give them a hard time.

Yeah I already talked to the dealer, because this is offered through the Manufacturer they don't really have any say. I am going to send a letter today to Honda Canada. I figure at least they should offer some sort of scaled tangable benifit to the people they screwed over.

As much as I'd like Honda to give out the rebate to all Fit owners, they are doing this because they think the ecofit rebate was unfair to Honda in general. Since the ecofit rebate from the government was introduced on May 20th that is how they set the date for their own rebate. I'm sure Honda is taking a big loss in profit by doing this already, I couldn't imagine the impact if they made it retroactive to all Fits that were ever sold from the beginning.

If anything, the government should take on Honda's challenge and include the Honda Fit in their rebate program, but even if they did I still only think it would impact anyone who purchased a vehicle after March 20th since this was when they introduced it.

I know it sucks for anyone who did buy just before Mar.20... I think the government should've looked into it further and gave an even larger rebate to those ppl who traded/sold their gas guzzling SUVs and Trucks for a Honda Fit If that was the case I'd be rich since my last truck averaged about 19L/100km... on a GOOD day.

When my rebate comes in I'm gonna use it to pick up some lightweight 15's for my Fit... hopefully i'll see a nice improvement in FC and accel...

I know I'd so totally be on the other end of the stick if I had bought my Fit 2 weeks earlier!

What kind of wheel are you looking into? Trak-Lites?

They should send out a 200$ gift certificate for honda accessories or something to ease the sting. I am used to the government screwing me over (I could write a book on how bad the whole income trust thing hurt me) but Honda should be more considerate about how their customers feel.

I'm looking at getting either Konig Heliums or Rota Circuit 8s, 10.8 and 12.6 lbs respectively.

Those are both pretty sweet rims, you will notice it right away in your acceleration and steering responce!

I wanted to grab a set of Trak-Lite 2's, but they were just too pricey for me. But I am pretty happy with the ones I ended up getting, they are still lighter than my stock rims. Just wish I had looked more into the offset.
