I know its a bit off topic, but does anyone know the difference between a ceramic and a organic clutch?

I was gonna pick up the Exedy Stage II clutch this spring, but artieman has tempted me with a "tester" deal on a clutch that is supposed to handle up to 400hp and he says its a ceramic clutch and will last 3-4 times longer than the Exedy organic clutch...

The cost between the 2 are very close, but I don't know the manufacturer of the clutch he is selling, he just said that they make farm equipment?!

My thoughts are to stick with the Exedy just for reputation and warranty sake.. plus I'll never hit 400hp and I think the driveability of the ceramic clutch sounds not too great... thoughts?

Organic clutches have material that rubs off over time and have less holding power. With that said if you daily drive the car a ceramic clutch will not be your friend as engagement is more on/off vs having the ability to feather and slip the clutch.

A stage 2 would satisfy your needs will still being easy to drive. In both cases expect more of a workout for your left leg as the pressure plate will have to be stiffer to make the stage 2 organic able to handle 60-100% more torque.

If you want a clutch get one from Bully. They custom make their clutches to specs, they're not expensive and they're made in Canada (Ottawa). If you're interested just let me know I have an account with them.

Hey ET, i don't know if you'll be able to respond in time, but I'm on my way to Crowfoot Muffler to have a O2 sensor bung installed to relocate my primary O2 sensor. Any ideas on how far down I should go? right now it is about 10" away from the turbo which is probably why it died prematurely. I was going to go about 3-4" infront on the secondary O2 sensor which has the O2 fix on it.. think that is far enough? it'll be about 24-28" away. Someone said I could go as far back as I wanted, but don't know if thats a good idea.

Your expert opinion would be appreciated!
