Notchy Shifts.

Im coming up to 500miles on my Fit Sport in 5speed. One thing Ive noticed since I got the car is that when the motor is cold 1st tends to pop out when I pull it into 2nd.
Its almost like the car knows Im going to shift so it hands it to me?
Hahaa, its weird.

Recently Ive noticed that the shifts are a bit notchy. It doesnt really bother me since my Mx6's shifts are notchy as hell. But the car is new and Im wondering if anyone elses are a little stiff?

Mine does that, altho I never associated that with the temperature.

Same deal with mine too. Seems to just be a characteristic of these cars. As long as it keeps running fine, no point in worrying.

Well, guess its the overall design of the car. Glad I didnt break anything.
I dont drive the car lightly.

I think it has to do with poor gear ratio of 1st to 2nd. If you switch from first to second slower and let the RPM's come down more before fully pulling the shifter into 2nd no notchy feel. But let's be honest no one's got time to wait! I Guess it's just normal!

I have a 02 rsx type-s, my wife has an 03 base. Both rsx's do this same thing. To fix the notchy shifts when the car is cold, we shift through the gears a few times after starting the engine. This works really well. Before I started doing this on very rare occasions, I wasnt even able to shift into second. I only have to do this when it is really cold out.
