You went 10,589 mi. Your trip has a tenth 0.5 in it so, that's 6,818.5 mi

GOt it!?

Silverworm, how many total miles did you have on your Fit when you last set the B trip meter (returning from NM)? If you had 3773 miles on it when you last hit the B trip meter then everything is on track. [6816 + 3773 = 10589]

I have never used the B trip meter and it reads the same number of miles as the total. Setting the trip meter just zeros out the number. The meter runs all the time, so until you zero it out, it accumulates mileage just like the odometer.

sorry about that sLiverworm. i've been reading your handle wrong for months!

but then, my eyes are 50 yrs old so I have an excuse . . .

i guess we're even cuz you missed that decimal point?

OK OK EDIT HERE. not a math error. a typing error which I fixed. I will point out that the numbers in your PHOTO are not really legible (not on my monitor anyway) and I was going on the numbers you gave in your post, which I then mistyped. MEA CULPA!!

but let's not snipe at each other's little mistakes, it's all about keeping communication channels open, right?

and please don't get me started or I will begin correcting your spelling, grammar and punctuation.

but really, is there any chance you accidentally tripped the B meter more recently, like when you had 3773 mi on the car? it is easy to do accidentally, when checking maintenance minder.

I suspect it is not a serious problem, just something you don't realize you touched. Hope so anyway. It sounds like less of a problem than my passenger airbag which does not want to function no matter who is sitting in that seat, according to the "not on" light. that'll be my Q to the dealer when I let them do the first oil change. (just the first one, i usually change my own.)

good luck w/it

It reads 6818.5 ; The trip meters have decimal values.

are you sure you reset it? To reset, you have to choose "B" then hold the button. If you reset when on "A", " B" is unchanged.

why would u think that? any value less than your total is realistic. My car has gone maybe 8000. My B trip meter reads 7000, b/c I only reset it once, and it was early when I first got it.

Holy crap that's a lot of miles covered considering the length of time you had that car!

I got my Jazz 1.2 a year and a half ago and it's bordering 23k at the moment.

I think your decimal place indicator must be out for your trip meter. I looked at my odometer last night, and indeed the last digit of the trip meter is the 1/10 of a mile. If you drive and watch your trip meter, you will see that the numbers increment every 10th of a mile. The trip meter is two decimal places to the left of the odometer. So your trip meter should really read 6816.5 miles.

I dont understand this thread?

Does your cluster have the decimal in it like shown in this photo?

If it does, then everything is fine. If not, you have a problem with your gauge cluster and should take it to the dealer.
