Broken Window

Hi, I'm a new FIT owner.

This morning, I was about to leave the underground garage
and all of a sudden, passenger side window got broken into pieces
while my wife was closing it.

At first, I thought someone'd thrown a rock or something
but it's smalll garage...
If there were someone, I would have seen him. (and kicked his ass)

It's really weird...
Because there were no possible causes...

(well..it was very very windy outside...
and window exploded (literally) as the garage door began to open.
Can a piece of rock fly through the gap between garage door and ground
and break a whole windshield???)

Today's Sunday...so I'm going to dealer tomorrow.
before that,
I just wanted to know if anyone had a similar situation.

Thanx.
(English's not my first language...
so please understand my awkward writing.)

Thats sorta odd. Do you think your wife slammed the door a bit too hard? The Fit doors are pretty light, Im sure a hard push would cause the door to slam pretty hard. Even more so if one of the other doors/windows were open.

No, I don't think so....Because it happened while the car was approaching the garage door....The door was already closed. Yeah...It's really odd...I've been driving like 6~7 yrs and I've never seen or heard something like this could happen.

I've just figured out what happened.... There is a string attached to the garage ceiling... One has to pull it to open the door... and the string somehow got into the window when my wife was closing it... and as soon as my Fit began to move, BAM... it just blew the whole window... The Apartment manager guy told me same thing happened last week... Why don't they just make a string shorter??? Stupid bastards... This really sucks... I got this car just a week ago!!! Anyway, It was not like there a defect in the car...

Ahhh. Makes sense. Im guessing its one of those strings that unlock the chain/drive screw so you can open the door manually?

Its not suppose to be long. Ours isnt long, it hits my head when walking under it. Im like 5'6''
