low back pain

I am just curious.

Has anyone developed low back pain after driving the fit ?

I've had mine six months. Driving 50 miles a day / 1 hour in total 5 times a week plus say 50 more at the week-ends.

I love the fit but the driving position for me leaves a constant "stretchy" feeling in my low back. I'm 6'2" with no previous back problems.

I have been blaming the bed / slouching on the sofa etc but got to wondering if driving position had some part to play.

Anyone else notice the same or is it just me ?

Yes, it happened to me right after I got my LX. No back pain for years and as soon as I get my first new car in years.........

I found the lumbar support was the cause. As I had solved the leg cramp from the small gas pedal with grey carpet foam, I cut out an insert to "fill in" the gap on either side of the lumbar area, to about half way up. (Sort of looks like a large Honda emblem except solid at the btm.)

I also use an Orbus? full seat cushion/back and it fixed the problem, thankfully.

Yes! On longer trips my back does feel some pain, however I have a bad back . I bought a lumbar support for my back that I use from time to time. It works but I loose some leg room when I use it I'm 6'4" and leg room is something I don't like to give up. They should make better seats after 9000 miles I don't give them a good grade.

tats quite true i find.. well certainly for me is it..

this issue has been brought up by others as well, the front seats in the fit seriously lacks in lower back support. my problem was solved not long after when i had my recaros fitted in.

changing the seats surely helps to a certain extent, i still think there's somthing to do wth the position/driving posture of how the fit is design. wth new seats fitted in, ur leg room position will change slightly, and tats wat i find wth the recaros and long distance driving, legs get pretty sore. having sore legs..back gets sore again

low back pain

Interesting to hear that others particularly the taller folks have experienced it. Trying various seat and seatback position combinations haven't solved it for me.

Thanks for the lumbar support info. i will try adding some generous padding and see.

I'm 6' 2 1/2". I don't have problems when I sit up and slightly press rear into the back of the seat. It does take a small amount of leverage and is the only time I'm more than slightly interested in a center arm rest.

See BobtheNuke's info on a seat support from Target -- haven't tried it myself, but it looks good.
