Smile First post, and cross country drive

hey everyone! long time lurker and first time poster. first off, i just want to say this is an awesome community. the amount of modding all of you are doing to your cars is amazing!

i own a 2010 fit and drove it from the west coast to DC which was over 2,000 miles. my wife and i completely filled the back with household items since we knew our actual household shipment would take about 50-60 days. we had no problems, and really enjoyed ourselves. the fit did struggle a bit on uphills, but made up for it on the way down it's been several months since we've moved out here, and there are no issues with the car.

i hope to be posting more often.

Welcome and thanks for showing yourself lol

I'd love to do a cross country myself... i'm glad the car served you two well on your journey.

It's a great drive, and I'd recommend it. Make sure you take some time to enjoy the sights!

Have any good pics to post? We really enjoyed the trips we made in the Fit to DC, Boston, Memphis, and many to Chicago and STL. The only real downside to the Fit on long trips is the noise.

I've done it twice and only "issue" was the pass up the mountain in Colorado. Great MPG, and fairly comfortable (although I would probably get a memory foam to sit on next time). Noise wasn't an issue for me. Just turned up the stereo!

Uhhh, wow, several months without issues. Unheard of for a FIT. J/K

You must have driven an automatic, a manul you could throw into 3rd and it would be on top of that hill in no time .

Welcome.

I wish we would've had time to see the sights on the way. We literally did the cross country drive in 4 days due to my job. Ugh! Hopefully we'll get to stop by Yellowstone and do some other stuff whenever we head back to the west.

Car is a bit noisy, I was thinking about using some of that dynamat spray to see if that helps. I wonder if anyones tried it on here yet.
