Honda Jazz / Fit Type R under development - report
Could be launched in 2015
The Honda Civic Type R is inching closer to production and a new report is indicating the company is also developing a Jazz / Fit Type R.
Details are limited but Motoring is reporting that the model will be based on the Jazz RS and come equipped with a hybridized 1.5-liter engine that produces 190 HP (140 kW). It will reportedly be connected to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission which will enable the model to return 3.6L/100km (65.3 mpg US / 78.4 mpg UK).
Besides having an upgraded engine, we can expect a sport-tuned suspension and an aggressive body kit that could resemble the Jazz Mugen.
If everything pans out Jazz Type R will debut in 2015 and be positioned above the Jazz Hybrid.

Haha thats my feeling too.
unless they have some super battery idea lined up, performance and hybrid still dont make a lot of sense to me.
great for economy but if you are racing the car its dead weight after literally minutes.
Makes me feel a little better, only ordered the RS a couple of weeks back and to see the type R confirmed made me a little sad. Hybrid? oh well do not want anyway

It didn't work for the idea of the CRZ and it sure as hell isn't going to work for a god damn Type R. I would have thought they learned from their first mistake but I guess they're stubborn or are hell bent on shoving hybrid technology down our throats when we aren't ready for it in a sports oriented manner.
Are they watching Tesla's success and assuming it will translate? I don't get WTF they are doing.
