Mpg 2010
Hello Fit owners,
I have a 2010 Fit and the first 15,000 miles I was getting 33mpg highway and 27mpg city. I now have 19,000 miles on my second favorite car since driving and I am now getting 34mpg city/highway, have not done any long highway driving in a while. When I first bought the car I was disappointed at the gas millage I was getting and went to this forum and other's to inquire about the mpg I was getting and thought engine break-in may be the reason for the bad mpg. All the advice I received was that break-in was not the cause for the bad gas milage.Anyone have an opinion on why my mpg is so much better now? Don't think it is gas blend, being that in the past two years I went through different sessional blend changes, any suggestion's will be appreciated.

My gas mileage increased slightly after about the first 2500 miles or so. Its broken in plenty enough around a thousand,
Reset your ecu. Yank the battery negative for several minutes. Re attach, and while leaving radio and climate controls (fan, AC) off, turn car on.
Let it idle until you hear the radiator fan kick on a few times. 3 seems to be a good number.
This is the Idle Learning procedure. this will allow the cars brain to relearn its surroundings faster then simply hooking the cable up and driving.
I recommend doing this with every seaon change (summer, fall, etc..) and also before long road trips, and after
