Where does that come from? Per Honda's owner link site, coolant is MM 5 on the Fit and I don't see a 3-yr. recommendation except for brake fluid.

It's not a matter of corrosion happening, it's a matter of cost benefit. When you're "right" sometimes it's hard to understand this concept, and I speak from experience. Carry on.

What part of "as much" or "pitting" did you fail to read? Also Honda is pretty strict about stating to use their coolant to avoid corrosion/lubrication issues.
