hello, im new to this forum i used to own a 06 civic si before getting my 07 fit.. sort of a down grade in performance but i love the fit alot, i was thinking about doing a k20z3 swap but not sure what the return of me selling my current engine would be. it has 30k kms on it (car was written off a few years back prev owner) and i believe its a L15a7 ? anyone have a clue what these engines go for especially with these kms or if anyones interested

OP, selling the L15A1 will NOT be a significant dent in your K swap budget. It can always be done for less, but the average figure thrown around for a completed swap is $10K...
Several well documented threads are on here that shold give you any needed details!

Stock 4G63s were going for dirt before the stock block record craze.
The 6-bolt on the stand in my garage was $40 dollars. Only thing wrong was a couple of rockers got tossed.. otherwise zero damage.
The First gen Fits are getting close to project vehicle affordability, and then things are going to get wild. It may be a few years yet though.

And I was TOTALLY JEALOUS as I was trying to work out a deal on the same motor Shipping it to me would have cost more than the engine though...

10k would be on the very low, DIY fabrication and labor side.
$15k+ is much more realistic to do it properly. That doesn't include tuning and potential dyno time either, to name a few things..

Jesus H Christ 15,000 for a motor Swap, wtf, sorry for the language. I was thinking the same thing, I also really like my sport o8, when I blow this motor, around 230,000 hopefully it lives that long. I was thinking of upgrading the ponies, granted it going to take me many years to get there, but that much coin Wow.
when my motor gets that high in mileage, what do you think maybe just have that motor rebuildt or drop in another one. I would do the labor myself, except for the machining work if its worth it.

these are Honda motors, I would be pissed if mine died at 230k, that's just the factory break in time LOL
my Acura has 290k and runs like a champ....our Odyssey ('95, F22 4 banger!) has 215k and feels brand new! No they dont LOOK brand new though
