The tires are identical - 185/55/R16 Dunlop SP7000 on both 2012 and 2009 Fit Sport.

Actually all US & CDN GE8's (09-13) come with either tire. Afaik, no one's been able to establish a correlation between tires, and either origin, style(sport vs. base), or transmission type.

When I first saw and test drove an '09 Fit Sport, I noticed it had Dunlop tires. It did not have VSA/NAV. I just got my '09 on October 16th. It's a BSP AT Sport with NAV/VSA and it has Bridgestone tires.

With so many Fit Freaks out there maybe we can figure out if Bridgestones were also 'bundled' with the VSA like the NAV?

Post your car configuration and tire type and lets see if we can draw any conclusions.

I have to add: No matter what we 'roll' on the Fit rocks!!

The tires are the same across all years of the GE8... It's just a roll of the dice which ones you'll get (Dunlops, or Bridgestones).

But as mentioned I guess the dampers between '09 & '12 are different.

yah, as mentioned earlier, i recenlty wrapped my 09's sport wheels with the SP7000's off my '12...and the ride was still bouncy on the 09.

My 09 and 12 came with Dunlops.

My experience is that handling was very close between both model years. I enjoy my 12 more than the 09

here is a pic of my 09 with less than 100 miles on it, bone stock:

dem Dunnies!

I heard even 2010 rear shocks could have been of different brands.
When it's time to replace shocks and struts on my 12, I will go with 2010 parts.
The 12 is softer and less bouncy, but I would rather have the stability and precise handling of the '10.

Having owned 3 Fits, an '07 Sport, '09 Sport and a '12 Sport, all with manual transmissions, I like what I have now the best.

The '07 handled like a go cart stock and took a novice auto cross win from mini coopers and WRXs.
The '09 needed DWS 205/50s on the stock rims, but people still considered the ride jolting.
The '12 base needed 16x7 inch rims, DWS 205/55s to push down the RPMs at 70 MPH, and a rear axle from the sport with the welded in anti sway bar.

It is the best of the bunch. Flat cornering with a compliant suspension. Super precise steering.
