I found my fit, with all seasons (I think mine has Firestones, don't remember) to handle well, as long as I was aware of the weight distribution being more towards the front. It meant I had to corner a little slower, and the car was prone to rotating a little bit under heavy braking. I mentioned it to my dealership, thinking there was something wrong with the car. No, there's nothing wrong, its just characteristic because of the weight distribution. Sales manager recommended winter tires, so this year I have a set.
The moral of the story is you'll be fine. The front of your car is heavier than other cars the same weight, because the gas tank is under the front seat, rather than under the back seat. Be aware of this, and slow down a little.

Fresh snow is a lot of fun to drive and play around in. What I hate about it though is other drivers. They scare the crap out of me the most. I had 5 near misses 2 years ago because of other drivers not knowing how to drive or paying attention to what they where doing.
