Repainting a new-ish Fit??

Anybody repainted a new-ish Fit just for giggles? I'd *kill* for a school bus yellow Fit (currently Blue Sensation), but I just can't see spending the money. Wonder how much it would cost?? Then trying to find a decent paint shop....

Hmmm 4-5k is a bit under the going rate these days. The price of materials alone will go around 3k. Factor in the shop time and the hours of labor just to remove the parts etc...With a good hook-up and doing all the pre-work yourself....maybe.

Actually at 9k I was being very conservative. A good quality shop will charge as much as 15k for quality work.

Heck a show quality paint job these days goes for 50k and some restorations on the really rare cars....these guys are paying 100k+

but there's always MACCO!

If you go with "School Bus Yellow", put that swinging stop sign with the flashing lights on your car too so the stop sign comes out when you open your door. And I want pics!

Sacred fecal matter!!!! $9k?? Clearly I'm in the wrong business. Auto repainting would appear much more lucrative than health care. Holy crap.

So Honda, how about a nice chrome yellow for 2014??

If you think about it it's a highly specialized market.

Insurance work and restorations...They can charge that much.

I'm sure a lot depends on where you live. LA prices are probably significantly more than rural SW Virginia where I live.

funny maaco was mentioned, back in the early 80s a family friend got his done there and they didnt even bother to wash the car before the paint, just painted over the dirt and grime. guess you get what you pay for, needless to say i will never go there if i have to.
