Gotta love the Fits!

My wife and I are going through some tough financial times and are watching every penny. Well, she needed to go to the store and in trying to decide whether to take her RAV4 or my Fit, she asked how much gas I had and I said, "Probably less than you. I have about a 1/4 tank. How about you?"

She said, "I have about a half tank but you can still probably go further than me!"

500 miles on a tank? That's impressive considering the Fit gas tank capacity is 10.5 gallons.

It's saving me a lot of gallons over my Tacoma. The biggest advantage is that I don't have to ride my motorcycle in the cold / rain / snow to save gas.

So he's getting ~47 mpg. Why don't you believe that?

Where in MA are you? I am in Westfield.

I have a motorcycle too and sadly, I enjoy the Fit so much that I some times prefer the car. What kind of bike do you have?

2004 Shadow 1100. I used to ride it 7K - 8K per year, but since I got the Fit I only use it for pleasure instead of commuting. The shadow gets 42 mpg, the Fit gets 36, but has heat and AC.

On a good day, once a year, I only get 320. But mostly I get under 250. Must be my lead foot.

My parents and older brother live in Waipahu.

You could get 500 miles on a tank of gas on the Fit if the whole 500 miles were downhill.
