Every locality is going to have a different set of laws, but more than likely this is legal because it is clear. I imagine this is not very different than the UV/IR films you can buy to put on your house windows - blocks stuff in the non-visible spectrum to reduce insolation (solar heating). Could be useful. Before you get it installed see if it makes the view every so slightly blurry - if so I would stay away. But likely it's imperceptible.

I would imagine on the Fit this would be amazing. The Fit is basically one big window.

I live in Vegas. So I'm hoping someone from Vegas would know. Yes, my Fit and my Civic suffer from "one big window" syndrome!

If it's clear most likely police will never know or care. They're not going to examine your windshield to give you a ticket.

I would be more concerned with the visibilty rather than the legality.

That makes sense. Well, if I can't get anyone to who has these installed to chime in and give their opinion, I'll probably end up being the guinea pig.

Let us know if you do. I'm interested in the result.

My only problem is what happens when I take the car in for state inspection and the inspector takes a razor blade to the old sticker?

Before you get a inspection sticker put some clear tape on there.

Does the inspection sticker go on the inside or outside? Because this tint goes on the inside of the windshield.

You would have to look into your local laws. All states are different, in PA you cant add anything to a windshield, even if it is clear.

Lot's of folks out there running 3M crystalline 90 and Llumar air blue 80 on the windshield, even if prohibited by thier state.

I have Formula One Pinnacle 30 on all windows but windshield, and Air Blue 80 on the windshield. Unless you knew what you were looking for, or I told you, you probably would not "see" the air blue 80 - just the tint on the other windows.

No stickers needed on the inside of my windshield though. I have read that some installers leave an open space for inside state inspection stickers - just no tint in that one corner. That open space would make it easier to "see" the rest of the tinted windshield though.

I am not likely to be pulled over to begin with - I am a mellow driver now in my older years (I wasn't when younger).

Upside to the Air Blue 80 - cuts UV and heat. Downside - wearing high end sunglasses I get a "discoloration" of some pavements (looks purple sometimes) with the air blue/sunglasses combo, and a tiny bit of occasional distortion or "waves" appearance on the glass (due to the steep angle of our Fit's windshield).

Ohh sorry about that haha. Well I looked at nevada and from what that site says, you're only allowed to add non-reflective tint above the as-1 mark...... So that would mean you cant have anything.

Which is kind of stupid because its hot as balls there most of the time, and a majority of people look to tint for cooling reasons (me)

One other drawback to think about. If you take a rock to the windshield and it cracks, you lose the money you spent on the windshield tint. I decided to do it anyway, but if I have to replace the windshield the tint will not be replaced.

I think I'll take that chance.
