Cargo area protector (Cheap)

Cargo area protector (Cheap)
Probably would not have shared this except for two reasons.
It's Cheap. Under 20 bucks at Walmart, including tax.
And "fit the Fit" better than expected. You have to twist the tote to get it into place. It's easier if you install it with the back seats folded down.
Once installed it doesn't move at all. Sides are a little flimsy but better than having cargo scratch up your plastic trim. You can store two, one inside the other. With the seats down you then have two protectors.
Sterilite 50 Gallon Plastic Storage Container:
50-gallon capacity
Made in the USA
Item dimensions: 42.75"L x 22"W x 18"H
Snap-on lids for secure storage

I'm in Texas so most of the time winters are not much different except I won't have to run the AC 100 percent of the time.
I thought the same thing when I read "Made in USA". I own a restaurant and the tote really does help in keeping the tools/supplies from rolling around the back.

+1, just use a towel rack with suctions cups on the back glass and hang the towels there. You can probably get that at Walmart too, 1 stop shopping.
In all seriousness, it does fill the space nicely and gives you a tangible idea of what you can store in the back.

That would work. Neighbours might start wondering about all those naked ladies in my drive though.
Great idea OP for preventing scuffs on the sides. Maybe cut the rear side down somewhat for ease of loading.
I keep a 5 x 6 blue tarp in mine for those dirty hauls.
