Purchased Extended Warranty (MBPI) for ~$1800 (72,000) mile on new Fit Sport
Hi all,
We just bought a 2012 Fit Sport from my local Honda dealer, and I reluctantly signed the paper for an extended warranty through some firm called MBPI. It is an extra $1749 for 72,000 miles.
I believe I have time to cancel this. Did I make the right move purchasing the warranty? Would you recommend I cancel? Should I bother with it at all, or does anyone recommend a better provider?
Please help!

First, welcome to the forum! There are a lot of good people here, and a lot of good information. Get familiar with the search button. I searched for "extended warranty" and here are a few of the threads:

If you want to purchase piece of mind, then it's a bargain at any price. If you can't afford to self insure against repairs (remember, you've only purchased the window after the factory warranty expires), then it may be for you. If you want to make a sound financial decision, return the warranty and put the money in a savings account, just in case the inevitable happens. They only offer these things because they make money on them. Best of luck, and welcome!

Is that 72,000 beyond the factory drive train warranty of 5 years 60 thousand miles?
or 72,000 miles from new?
Either way you paid too much for too little. The dealer is ripping you off. Get your money back. People have been paying about half what you did for either 100 or 120K warranties backed by Honda.
If you must have the peace of mind then buy a honda warranty online. You can do it until the car has 36,000 miles (when the full factory warranty expires). Most Honda buyers don't bother with extended warranties.

Definitely too much money for the coverage you got. For reference, I got the extended warranty but paid less than half of that for the 120k mile. I had to haggle.
Don't know how to go about getting your money back, but in any case, try to do so.
