Yes they do... but not with the free spinning sleeve.

correct! needs free spinning sleeve, otherwise those locks can be breached.. pretty easily.

This past Tuesday was the SECOND time all four of my Fit wheels were stolen. First time was just before Thanksgiving. What a nightmare. I had wheel locks both times but since the thieves left the lug nuts I could see that they didn't have any difficulty getting them off, nice and shiny-not a scratch on 'em. Have motion lights, alarm didn't go off and dogs didn't bark. PD thinks the thieves come twice--first to get ready and then back to get the tires so as to cause less attention.
Check out the pics, HOW did they get the tires so close to the fence?! everythinhttp://www.photoshop.com/users/jenniferkmonaghan/albums/4255b80b3c6942ce90f6a0b0c2778025g

Wow... TWICE??? Sorry about your mishap. Sounds like you need to upgrade your car alarm with shock/motion sensors, throw away your lug nuts and get all locks or move to a different neighborhood with a garage. Good luck!

I can't believe it. They must have been aliens from another planet using some levitation device. Really, was it parked this close to the fence when they were stolen???? I haven't got the slightest idea of the method.

my guess is that they reached through the fence to handle the tools. Maybe they had a battery powered tools to make the job easier. Or they had a really long extension breaker bar. It was probably a two person job too.

Where the wheel locks OEM locks? It's possible they had a key for it.

Yup. Parked that way since it happened the first time, I thought it might save the 2 wheels on that side but my plan was clearly foiled. Some bad luck w this car lately: 10/20/11 a squirel made a nest in my car by chewing the transmission harness ($950) then 11/22/11 the first round of tires ($500 deductible) and now 2/10 another $500!

The first set were OEM, second were McGard (? I think)

Did the McGard have the spinning sleeve? Like I posted earlier, locks without the spinning sleeve can be pretty easy to beat.

I have aftermarket wheels, which means I can use tapered seat locks (OEM wheels have ball seat), more specifically, I can get the Gorilla locks with the spinning sleeve.

I agree with Goobers.. I would take the insurance money and get yourself some after market wheels and install the Gorilla Guard locks. I have them on my car and I really don't know how they would be able to get them off without the key. But it also makes me doubly worried about losing the key too

Sorry to hear about all these stolen wheels/rims. One of the first things I did after buying my Fit was order wheel locks which my salesman thought was crazy because he said no one wants the rims off a Fit! Little did he know.....Also the local rental car place sits right on a major highway in my city. Someone came in and stole some really nice wheels off one of their luxury rental cars during the night. They came in the next morning to see it sitting up on blocks!

Um, which lock on what wheels?

You can't use the Gorilla locks with the spinning sleeve on OE wheels. It'll be very unsafe as it doesn't have matching seats.

From what I can find, McGard doesn't offer ball seat locks with sleeve either.

Both offer ball seat locks or spinning sleeves, just not combined.

So, you'll need to get aftermarket wheels to make use spinning sleeve locks.

OUCH! Sorry about the bad luck... The bright side is now you have a chance to upgrade your tires/wheels, with hopefully better ones. Don't forget to get locks!

Sorry to hear about the theft. This is the downside of having a car with a common 4 x 100 bolt pattern.
If you upgrade to a nicer wheel, next time they have a nicer set of wheels to steal. I am not sure if there is a really good solution besides storing the car in a locked garage at night.

well, with aftermarket wheels, you get more options for wheel locks.

and while wheel locks are only deterrents, some are better than others. i think a free-spinning sleeve is pretty good, but they're only available for aftermarket wheels.
