Bike hauler?

I am pretty big into bicycles and used my 90 hatch to carry around my bike all the time. I am making a 2x6 about 38 inches long that I am going to try and have a 2 bike set up where I can attach the fork to the board so I can have two bikes securely attached. Has anyone else done this before? I have made a few measurements but haven't had time trying to wrap up the semester....

We just remove the front wheel, and slide the rear wheel in between the seat and the b-pillar. Use a bungy cord around the downtube attached to the seat hooks. No board needed.

Were way under 6', a 50 & 53. Sure would be a pain to lower seat everytime.

Luckily the seat height isn't the issue. I think the length of the bike is the problem. I may need to slide the front seats up one notch. I will try and do some measuring today. Either way I am sure it will fit two bikes better than my 90 hatch.

What kind of riding does everyone do? I a "roadie" but I mainly ride dirt roads on my cross bike. I do some road racing but I really like the ultra distance dirt road rides like the Dirty Kanza 200.

BTW I am jealous of you two riding area. The weather must be amazing! Here in Kansas I am having to start wearing three or four layers just to make it out the door.... Very jealous

Wheel base shouldnt be a whole lot different. When the sun comes up I'll take a pic with a loaded bike. Plenty of room with the rear wheel between the seat and B-pillar. We have 11 bikes total, road, mtn. & Tandem. Offroad out the backdoor.

I would be curious to see the picture just to see how other people haul their bikes. I have two friends I ride with who also have Fits so I know it can be done I have just had so little time trying to wrap up my last semester...
