car modders: is it do-able? pimp our rides with the NAV parts?

Power folding mirrors, LED tail lights, turn indicators in the mirrors are all now standard equipment in all Jazz models sold in Australia from the 1.3L DSi GLi to the 1.5L VTEC VTiS. Oh and the price has come down around $2,000 now that they are sourcing from Thailand instead of Japan. Free Trade is a wonderful thing.

Our UK Jazz/Fit (someone tell me what I should refer to it as so I don't cause any confusion!) looks like that interior but with the stereo fitted (the easy to use one!) but we can buy a Honda Access part that converts the dash to that 2DIN panel but I think it only fits RHD dashes! We have electric folding mirrors (Yo JDM!) with the indicators in them! I think your dash is nicer with the proper glove box though rather than our big shelf thingy!

Looks pretty nice. I don't need navigation, but it would be nice if I were to road trip (and as a trip computer). I'd love it if there were a SmartKey type entry/ignition system (I think SmartKey entry/ignition is the way of the future for automobiles. Keys are so passe!).
Get all that in the Fit here in the US with the 1.5l engine, and it would probably be a good $1-3K upsell.
It would also shut up those reviewers that griped that the Fit doesn't have navigation or bluetooth!

Alas...
...The current US-market Fit will never get that navigation system and automatic climate control because it will probably add around US$2,000 to the price of the car.
However, when the second-generation Fit arrives in the USA (probably when Honda's new Greenburg, IN assembly line opens), I do expect a navigation system/automatic climate control, though.

Do people need cell phones capable of playing movies, playing mp3s, taking pictures, playing games, etc. No, but it's convient to have.
It's technology and it's there for those of us who want to use it to it's full advantage if possible. It's like saying what's the big deal about the internet, save the monthly ISP bills and hardware bills and just use the library.
How many times have you seen someone driving not paying attention to the road because they are too busy looking at a print out of directions? Or someone who swerves across 3 lanes to exit because they didn't know it was coming up? Well navigation systems help to alleviate these problems.
If the EDM/JDM navigation system or the navigation system from another US Honda would work in the Fit, I'm one that would purchase it.
As for the power self-folding turn signal mirrors, that's just JDM bling that's on my list of modifications.
