Can I make my Fit a taxi cab?
Hello!
I am new to this forum. I recently lost my job and finding livelihood to get by and to continue my studies. I am curious, can I convert and register my 2007 Honda Fit Sport as a taxi cab? Is that allowed by Honda? If not, do you guys have alternative to make the Fit a self-sustaining and productive asset?
I am still under financing under Honda Financial and will finish in about two years.
Thanks for any help and suggestions.

While you are still financing it, it legally belongs to Honda. You can try contacting Honda of America and see what they say.
You could try being a courier... or just a delivery person for some business. I do deliveries for my brother-in-laws restaurant. The difference from being a taxi is that you don't always have to worry about your delivery doing stuff to your car. And plus, taxis require paint jobs and/or logos to advertise that you are a taxi.. stuff that can be (semi) permanent. Whereas the delivery may not require anything on the car or just a simple magnetic sign.

You may owe them money but it's your car, it does NOT belong to Honda. They just have a lien on it so they can take it back if you don't continue to pay.
That said, the financing contract may specify non-commercial use.
The warranty may also have some restrictions.
And your car insurance, of course, has to be for commercial use, along with your registration...
