How do I know where to take it (everyone says to find a good installer, I have no clue who-where, etc), can anyone help me, tell me if it is possible, where to take it, which kind to buy, how much it should be (approx of course)....Thanks!!! clueless in chicago!!

I'm sure CFLhonda will sell you the OEM remote starter as long as it's not a standard. He will also include the same instructions they give the techs at the dealership so you could do it yourself if you feel like it. I have heard that the OEM is no where near the same ball park as other (same price) aftermarket units though. So may want to look at those. Pretty much local audio shops or Best buy(hit or miss with those guys).

Hope this helps a little bit. I'm sure there are others that will know a lot more about this than me.

The genuine Honda remote starter is terrible. Every one we've installed, we've then had to remove so an aftermarket one could be installed. Call your dealership and find out if there's someone they deal with for a/m starters. If it's someone they've done business with for a couple of years, they're likely good installers.

chicago- any good stereo shop in your area can install them. they usually sell remote starts too. does your car have automatic transmission? some places will not install on MT as it can cause a car to move if left in gear and remotely started.

The Honda dealer talked me out of the OEM remote, they hate them.

They recommended Compustar. I bought one and it works great.
BTW, I have an automatic.
