Fit Trade-In
Has anybody tried trading in a Fit with it being lowered (ex: Eibach Pro Kit)? And if so, what kind of offer did you get? Was it low-ball or normal?
I'm thinking of trading in my Fit. I did also have an AFE SRI, but I removed it last night and reinstalled the stock airbox.

if you bring your stock struts with, chances are the dealer or shop will give you 400-500 for it even if not installed. same goes for your intake box, etc.
aftermarket bits are not considered valuable mods to most folks. it actually DEGRADES resale value unless your selling privately and the party buying the car wants them.

Any kind of personal changes to a car generally hurts the value... A beautiful very tastefully modified and fast WRX STI was for sale forever and went for less than a stock one with the same mileage.. There was a lot of money put into it.. I'll be driving my Fit until I die because it would kill me to take a loss like I would have too.... Besides that it is a lot of fun to drive.

Just to note, I'm not shooting for the moon on trade in value. I'm just hoping to get at least to where my possible down payment would cover negative equity. So I would hope I can get at least 9500 for a 2008 fit sport with 47k miles.

if the car is in good shape you will probably get that. just tell the dealer your baseline price for your new car and how much you need to make on the new car - trade balance. they might be able to scrape some $ off the new car to adjust.

sounds good. give it a nice clean down on the inside too. they like to see clean carpets and seats.
i think appraisers look at the interior and that pretty much determines their initial impression of the car if it was well kept or not mechanically under the hood too.

I'm not sure.
I have a modified intake and exhaust. I went to Carmax to see what they would offer.
I have 83,000 on a M/T 2007 and they offered me $6,500 in Colorado Springs, CO.
I was a little bummed.
*My car is mint on the inside and only has a small ding on the rear quarter panel.

Ok guys, as much as I liked the Fit, it was traded in this past Tuesday.
I was having a few little issues I was tired of dealing with on the car. Even with the Eibach springs still on the Fit, I was offered $10,500 for my Fit, which was almost $300 less than what I owed. My down payment covered that negative equity.
I'm now the owner of a 2012 Hyundai Elantra GLS with a 6-speed A/T.
Just wanna say that this is a great forum and hope it stays that way. :-)
