Customized Key (retractable)

I just got my Fit, which was my first car. Before I had a car I only had to carry arround one key. I'm sort of a minamalist when it comes to carrying things. Usually I would rock a front pocket wallet (very slim, credit card/debit card/ID with a money clip) in one pocket and my iphone in the other. I'd slide my house key in one of the slots of the wallet and I'd be good to go.

I came across two products which seem pretty sweet.

Keyport SLIDE Keychain Management Tool Review
‪Keyport SLIDE Keychain Management Tool Review‬‏ - YouTube
Ultimate Keychain Alternative | Keyport, Inc.
-Store up to 6 keys
-accessories (USB storage, LED light, etc)
-RFID compatible
-No keyless entry attachment

Ikeyless Switchblade combo (keyless Entry included)

-Only 1 key
-Keyless Entry/Panic buttons

Has anyone done this before? It seems like a pretty cool idea.

The first one is a pretty cool idea. People have done the TL switchblade key before, similar to the second option. Those custom keys are pretty awesome!

Do you have any idea where I can get a DIY guide. I checked eBay and blank switchblade keys are like 15 bucks. I dont know how to get the keyless to work.

If you have the sport, this is covered. If you have a base and added keyless entry it wont work - I wanted to do this mod, but I have a base.....

Yea I have the sport!I didn't want to take apart my second key but I called my Local Honda Dealership and they said it would cost me $135 to program a new key, and $10 to cut it.

I ended up buying one of the switchblade key fobs on ebay for a little less than $14 CAD (free shipping whoo!). Item --> Folding Car Remote Key Flip Case For HONDA Fit Odyssey | eBay

I guess i'll have to dissasemble my second set of keys. But of about $25, this seems like a pretty fun experiment.

Thanks for posting the DIY links!!
