I would wait for the color that you REALLY want because you will always have that "what if" question in the back of your mind.

I think he "needs" a car. And the choice of color is not exactly the biggest decision someone can make... so I think the "what if" is going to be minimal in this case.

Red seems pretty rare, I would have considered that.

I got Storm Silver because that is what my dealer had coming in first. It was between Storm Silver and Lunar Mist. I'm very happy with my decision. It all depends on what you want. If you really want Vivid Blue Pearl, wait til you find one. If you would be equally happy with another color, go out and get yourself a Fit.

Red looks really good in the Fit. I bought a Silver one because our other car is the exact same color Red. Choice of color is very personal decision.

The black is pretty and I might go that route if I needed a car, but I have to tell you that the blue is really beautiful. I saw mine in the shopping center parking lot and it virtually glowed blue.

Which dealerships have you tried around the area? When I was looking for my fit, I called around quite a bit. Most dealerships had 2-3, maybe 5 fits coming in per shipment. Then I called Boch Honda and they had 18 coming in the very next week (since they are so huge). They were no easier/harder to deal with than any other dealership I know about and they are selling at MSRP. It might be worth making a few calls.
