Either way I'll let you know when I get one hooked up to my car.

As long as the weight stays around 25-2600lb, 145hp, especially to the wheels, will get up and go pretty well! I'd be willing to wager a 2600lb car with 145hp would feel like a 3000lb car with 200hp.

Turbo VS Engine Swap (Honda Fit USDM)
Irony - even the Ford Fiesta has a bolt on turbo...think about that. However, i read last night on some forum that took me 50 links to get to that even if you were to run 2 or 3 psi on that lil car you would be putting the internals @ risk...i don't know if i believe ALL of that or not. Just because it's a small car dosen't mean the engine is made of plastic...

Small car and small engine would me smaller engine parts? and that would mean not as strong right? i do believe you would have to put forged pistons in the engine and possible metal gaskets.

exactly - and we can apply the same to larger engines - even an h22 prelude motor. if you put a t3/t4 turbo on it you can only run so much boost and so high psi before you blow the engine and/or melt the turbo. you would need to upgrade there as well...make sense?

don't know if this vid is floating around here but i found it on a sister site.

I wonder if the engine was mod'd other than the Mugen SC or if they just bolted it on.
Anyway, pretty sweet vid.
EDIT: click on the "MOVIE" link to play it (after you follow the link from fittuners.com)

My thoughts are as long as you go with an ESTABLISHED name brand turbo kit and deal with PROFESSIONAL mechanic(s) that know what the hell they're doing and offer some sort of warantee on their work you should be OK. But yes, there will be risks involved when you do stuff like that to your car.
I'm not about to have some kid try to bolt on some turbo with parts he picked up from e-bay into my car!
