recall 2011

I had my car fixed last saturday, but unfortunately the engine has a noisy tapping. I will call the dealer to check it. Does anyone had the same problem? Did they fix it?or it is normal to sound like that?

i had no issues with getting the recall done at open road honda.

if i was you, i wouldn't be too worried about waiting until after the trip. but that's just me.
I just got mine done today at Autosport... I had told them upfront about my trip and making sure everything is put back together properly. will let you guys know in case of any issues... keeping my fingers crossed. Wipers are still working

i took mine in two weeks ago. it took 3 hours.
Immediately I felt that it sounded different. somehow it just seems like it sounds more like a sewing machine is operating in engine on the passenger side.
I don't know if it is because I am listening like a hawk for something - but I could swear I now hear this tick tick tick tick tick tick tick.
I brought it back the next day and the fellow who did the work took a short drive with me. He said it was fine - he didn't hear anything (of course). He said, "Oh if you have a problem just bring it back in." Heh.

DOES ANYONE ELSE HEAR or know of a TICK TICK TICK TICK TICK TICK TICK?

I had the same problem. My car sounded like a diesel truck! . when I called the dealer they told me that that sound was normal, but they also told me they can check it. So I left the car yesterday and now the car rides and sounds as always. The only problem was they spend all day to do it, but I understand they priorize the others customers who are paying for the service.

Had a safe trip to NC from NJ, had no issues after the getting recall work done. Drove 1050 miles over the weekend and averaged 33.7mpg per computer (software updated). I manually calculated and got 33.3 mpg (and my calculation was probably not very accurate either) which means the computer is spot on. Considering all the traffic I hit it was good but I feel that Fit's economy is avg for its class, I think my Acura would also give that much easily with a lot more power . Fit constantly has to downshift at higher speeds and even for smallest uphill. I guess instead of doing 75-85 if I drove at 55-60mph i guess i can get better mpg but who drives at that speed, especially for such long distance . Overall very happy with Fit, it definitely is fun to drive. This was i think my forth or fifth 1000+ miles trip and looking forward to many more .

i got my GE fixed last month and everything went smoothly. the only thing though, the car takes like a second or two longer to turnover when cranking from cold start than before.

What kind of Acura do you have? The most I have ever gotten in my TL is 30 mpg. Usually I get 23-26. More power—yes. Equivalent mpg—no.

Monday night, at a pump in Hannibal, MO (30 cents per gallon less than Illinois) the young mother in front of us pumped $85 into her Excursion. I took 8.5 gallons to go 356 miles. $35 or so.

Now I just need to drive another 60 miles to the dealer for the recall and find a set of tires somewhere.

Cheers.

No its not normal for engine to sound like that. Even i had the same problem; noisy engine, but my dealer fixed it. Later i never got to face that problem. I feel its not fixed properly, guess you have to get it checked.
