No, if you put it in S and don't touch the paddles, it will automatically shift, but will only use gears 1-3 (just like a base Fit in D3). Once you touch a paddle it is all over and you will have to shift into D and then back to S to restore this automatic function. You can tell this by the presence or absence of the illuminated gear indicator while in S. It's fully explained in the owners manual. My manual is incorrect though, as it says that the transmission will automatically use gears 1-4 while in S but in actuality it will only automatically use gears 1-3.

Still no change to the survey? I vote D with paddle. Very appropriate here on the flatlands for upshifting a bit early.

S-mode is great for those hills and the twisty roads.. I find D-mode is best for the freeway and crowed city streets.. Plan on taking the Fit to autox next month.. S-mod all the way...

Haha, should have been more specific with the pole. If anyone can tell me how to change it, I'll do it. Or if the mods would do it for me it would be nice.
