Fit is having fits on start up

My 2008 Fit sport with manual shift is starting to lurch and jump and then die when I start to move froward in first . This just began today and has done this two times out of 4 different starts. It actual threw my coffee cup out of it's holder. I am afraid to drive it.
It is not my driving ability.

Sounds like the engine isn't getting enough fuel after you let the clutch out. Or maybe it's the O2 sensor. My brother's Altima did that whole lurching and sputter thing when he was on the freeway a few weeks ago and it was the O2 sensor. I really have no mechanical background, but I felt 71 views and no comments warranted a free bump.

Flyin172s,

Thanks for your response, I will be taking my Fit to a dealer on Monday so if they are stumped, I will ask them to check the fuel flow and the O2 sensor. I was thinking my emergency brake was being pulled off and on in some way when I started out. This happens in my parking lot and I look pretty stupid bouncing about over and over.

BTW, how did you know that 71 people saw my post?
I am not too swift with computers and forums. In fact I joined this Fit forum because I tried to sign up on anohter Fit forum but the spam stopping box was too difficult for me to figure out what the answer should be that I gave up and joined this forum instead. It had a word showing upper and lower case letters in in like "HonDA" and I think I was to just type the capital letters shown in the word in the spam box. I did this about six times and was rejected six times so I gave up and came to this more user friendly Fit forum.

Thanks for listening
Walt

Also remember this time of yr the ECU plays tricks on us due to change in weather.
