I agree entirely!

But in some cases when you experience voltage drop, be it due to crappy broken/corroded ground leads or a low output heat-killed (next to my turbine housing) and power steering fluid covered (under the PS pump) OE alternator a few extra 4ga. grounds can really make a difference.

First hand I have had problems where a voltage drop was causing my fuel pumps to fall off more than normal under boost and creating dangerous lean conditions. Also, low voltage caused my injector dead times to damn near triple which made starting, especially when already warm, almost impossible.

I have a couple cars where the electrical load is very high, and the real solution was just buying a big ass battery (Braille Endurance 1520CA!), 0ga Charge wires and a reman'd and re-wound alternator (150-220A vs. OE 90A).

But if you don't have the cash and need to daily drive it, some extra grounding can be a band-aid fix.

What would possess someone to put them on their old rusty mercury tracer? Or put twelve on each side of their ford exploder?

Holy Exhaust tips, Batman!

That settles it.

I'm putting some 6" diesel stacks, flappers and whistletips through the roof of my Fit.

Interesting, I have never felt any of my Ti knobs to be too hot or too cold in either extreme. You could always put a sock on it.

Yeah, but that would kill off the bling factor people prize so much. Hahaha!

Car and Driver ranted about the aluminum shift knob on their long-term TSX/Euro Accord.

Call me antiquated I guess, but Porsche was on to something good when they used balsa wood on the shift knob of the legendary 917...and passed it on to the Carrera GT. It just makes sense: there's nothing to scorch your hand on a major control.

Without a doubt the worst thing I have done to any car is to have replaced the wheels and or tires with heavier ones or ones with more offset than came with the car in stock form... Second to that is shorter, heavier springs with many windings that would bind up under normal driving conditions causing damage to other components.

What is your prefered offset and ride height? Do you have adjustable ride heads or caster?

I have 41mm offset on Enkei RPF1s in 15"X7" and 195-55-15 Conti Pro Contact tires... The suspension is totally stock except for the Swift Sport Mach springs that drop the front about 1.6" and the rear 0.8" and I have Monroe air shocks that I keep 12 PSI in. I do need to get a camber adjustment kit and set that and the toe in.... I wish It was higher in the front but the way it is the handling is close to being neutral.... It's a bitch trying to control a 4 wheel drift when there is no power to the rear.... I have another set of wheels an tires on it now but have yet to drive on them... They're 16"X7" Final Speed Erasers with 37mm offset and 195-45-16" tires.... They look good but I don't expect much from them except a little less side wall movement... They aren't as heavy as stock wheels and will be rotated with the RPF1s for a change in ride and handling mainly for kicks and they do look good...

Worst Modifications?

The 10+ brands of "HID style" bulbs I tried in my head and fog lights.

All were usually much dimmer than stock...looked "cool" though. (never tried higher wattage)

Weapon R checkered floor mats: They look pretty nice, aside from the stupid WR G-Style logos, but the driver's side never fit well and slid forwards constantly. Still need a new set of mats.

So far I'm happy with my Ep3 exhaust. wasn't very happy when I ran the car without a muffler.

I used to have a Toyota Tundra.
Worst modification was when I lifted the truck I went with a kit that included an Add-a-leaf. It was super stiff and squeaked all the time. Very annoying.

K&N Filters: I've used them on just about every car I've owned...I'm not really sure why I always end up buying them. Pretty much useless garbage.

GoFits - yeah, I'm not convinced that K&N's were worth the money/time for the little gain on small engines.

Another bad mod I thought of was the DC Sports short shifter adapter for my 1993 Prelude...major cutting to make it fit, then it would pop up the plastic surrounding the shifter when shifting into 1,3, or 5 gear. Then it would loosen up and need to be re tightened. Ugh! bad design.
