HELP!!- need Advice got speeding ticket out of state
Help-- I just received a certified letter from State of Illinois. They got me speeding on photo radar. Says I must appear in Court in November...
No way I can do that--
What are my options? They have no phone numbers on the ticket.![Mad](https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/images/smilies/mad.gif)
I just want to plead guilty and pay what ever fine I owe.

How many MPH were you going over the speed limit? If more than 40mph then when it's reported to CO, they might take your license away. You'll probably need a lawyer to keep your license at this time. If not, just pay the fine and go on with your life. You don't have to show up if you plead guilty and pay the fine. It's typically difficult to argue a speed camera ticket.

18 mph over the limit--I do not want to fight it--just do not want to have to go to court--they did not provide an option to pay fine as other tickets. I will pay whatever they say I owe. I do not want to fly out there for court.

There has to be a number printed with the notice. Call them and explain to them you want to plead guilty and pay the fine and please tell you what you need to do. Let's face it. These kinds of tickets are designed to rob us, not to be bothered with us showing up in court and wasting their time. They'll be more than happy to tell you how to send in the money.

Actually there were no phone numbers on the ticket--no option to mail in fine money and admit guilt--very odd.
I went on internet and found the number to call. I spoke to the court clerk this morning and they had not yet received a copy of the ticket (it was dated 9/13/10) so he could not do anything. He will call me back once they get their copy and speak to the state attorney office about what to do. I told him I have no interest in contesting it, admit guilt and will pay fine.

Don't wait for their phone call. Knowing how they are they'll probably "forget" to call you, and tell you it's your responsibility to keep track of your ticket and will give you another fine for being late. Stay on top of it.

yep i can almost guarantee you they will NOT call you back. keep calling them every week to check status.

I think this is the correct website Vehicle Services Department
You can get the number there. Call them and inquire about your ticket.

Sweet peaches! Bad luck. I read that we only have two of the damn things in the whole state. I'm sure we'll use the proceeds from the ticket to buy more.
The state police were running radar on back country roads around here last week. State is broke. They're ringing the cash register any way they can think of right now.
