New Fit Owner...Old Wagovan Owner
Hey all,
Just wanted to say 'hi' as I am new to the Fit world and new to this forum...I have been reading up on suspension and exhaust and have found a lot of great info from respectable members. This is the sign of a great forum.
I came from owning a 1988 Wagovan, but got tired of keeping up with little things a 20 year old car would dish out (left me stranded 3 times this year, all little things, but frustrating still).
So, I purchased a 2009 Blackberry Pearl, M/T, Nav Fit Sport on my birthday this past monday! Woot! I am very excited.
Pleased to meet you all and looking forward to contributing my experiences!
First mods: lowering...eibach pro-kit, swift springs, or bilstein PSS (expensive, but may be worth it in ride quality and durability)
Cheers!
New Fit behind the old "Lilwago" For Sale if interested!

Thanks Krimson_Cardinal! It is bigger! The wagon was a lot of fun, but the FiT is fun x10. Who would have figured that car technology and design get better after 20 years! =)
solbrothers: yes it is for sale. I'll post up info later. Cheers!

Congrats on the new fit--BBP one of my fave colors! Enjoy!
I loved those old Wagovans and the 80's Toyota Tercel Wagons, as well. I have a soft spot for the boxy 80's cars....
I love the futuristic spaceship look of my Fit, though.

Thanks sooznd! I do love the Fit. I still have a heart for my wagovan, but need to get to work...on time....every day. =P I can't believe how well the Fit handles. It is actually comparable to my lowered Wagovan...seriously.
Here is info on my Wagovan that is for sale:

Welcome to the forums.
I have a 2010 GE8 and I have been very happy with the Eibach Pro-Kit. The handling is noticeably better, reduced body roll, and hitting bumps is not much worse than on stock springs. It is a reasonable drop too, you won't have to worry about any rubbing issues for most wheel and tire applications.
Before you buy exhaust, check out the thread that discusses having a muffler shop build you a bolt on straight pipe to replace the axle-back muffler. It has a great sound, increases exhaust flow, reduces weight, and is easily interchangable for inspection purposes.

Krimson_Cardinal: Yes...the Fit was the best choice since I was looking for something similar to the wagon. I test drove the mini cooper clubman (great car, way overpriced and questionable reliability) and the current GTI (I WOULD have got this, had I not tests drove the Fit) What sold me in the end is that the Fit, although smaller on the outside, the Fit is the largest on the inside!
As most can tell from my name, I need to transport drums, but i still like a "flickable" vehicle. I don't know how they did it!!!?????? Awesome.
2Legit2Fit: (awesome name BTW) Thanks for the advice. What would we all do without the knowledge of forum friends! I have had Prokits, ground control ers, tanabe DF210, and skunk2, and the biggest factor in all of them was the paring with the damper. This is why I kinda wanna lay down the money to get the Bilstein PSS. The best ride quality i've had = DF210 on LS400 w/ KYB GR2 (obviously)
Absolute WORST ride quality = ksports on my wagovan (unberable even for my modest commute...i must be getting old)
Thanks for the advice on the exhaust...I'm leaning toward the GReddy SE or the mugen that would work with the rear mugen diffuser. I'm afraid a straight pipe would be too much of a drone for my 40 min each way commute. =)
Thanks for the comments all! Any and all recommendations welcome!

Ok...I'm really leaning towards the Bilstein PSS from TireRack.com. Having a matched spring/damper combo is very attractive...and the opportunity to have it corner balanced is a plus. Cost, well it is high...but over the life of the car, it might be worth it...thoughts?
