got a kia soul as a rental

got a Kia Soul as a rental car on my recent trip to Maine.

not a bad little car, one thing I loved about it that I wish the Fit had was, the sun visors slide back-n-forth on the rod they pivot on, so it could block that few remaining inches of sun coming in the window! genius! why didn't honda think of that?.. wonder if a swap could be done?

Also the Radio was much better in the Soul, much larger dot-matrix screen w/nice menu's and Speakers were better too. Also had bluetooth hands-free built in.

interior space was not bad inside either, similar to the fit. Of course it got horrid mileage compared to the Fit, and it's kinda ugly imo. It had lots of rattles especially on the dirt roads in Baxter State park.

yah +1 on the visors. you know the old (90s) accords had sliders in them too, the visor had a hunk of plastic you could slide out. it really would be handy on the fit as massive as the front window is.

I found the sound of the Soul radio pretty atrocious and cheap sounding. Like the ricer light up speakers though...

honda put zero thought into the sun visor.
you'd think if they were going to give us the world's largest windshield, they'd also modify the visor in some way.... but no.

Maybe Kia has a lot of radio options.

The 09 Rondo I rented here last week had a terrible radio compared to the factory unit in my base Fit. The Kia's had no fidelity and poor reception. In general the Rondo felt cheap and rattled a lot compared to the Fit. It had more power at highway speed, but it got poor mpg.
