That picture "guess" of the second-generation Fit may not be as far-fetched as you think, if that is the new model.
Well-known car spy photographer Brenda Priddy has taken pictures of a disguised 2007 Honda CR-V small SUV in testing on public roads, and believe me, it has a new nose of th 2007 CR-V that bears strong resemblence to what the "guess" picture of the new Fit looks like.
I can guess that the new car--unlike the current model--will be designed to meet NHTSA safety standards from the start along with getting high EuroNCAP crash ratings. Expect probably a new engine block in 1400 cc i-DSI (86 bhp), 1600 cc i-DSI (95 bhp), and 1600 cc SOHC i-VTEC (118 bhp) forms, with the 1600 cc engines available in North American market models. Also, expect Honda to use a new CVT automatic with improved "feel" that is better-suited for American driver preferences.
