race ready, fully gutted weight?
Hello,
I am doing background research on the Honda Fit used exclusively for racing purposes, particularly the weight of the vehicle in race ready trim
this means EVERYTHING in the car is gone, including airbag systems, front dash, sound deadning, etc.
We are trying to verify the claimed weight of a competitor with what is actually possible/impossible. Save of getting the competitor to get on to weight scales, we have no real way to double check this, and getting scales to a racetrack is not an easy task..
So if anyone has real life experience with a race-ready Fit, and knows of its weight (or a ballpark +/- 2% error), your info would be greatly appreciated.

This race car weighs only 800kg compared to the stock car's ~1000kg.
This is Spoon's Fit. They do show pictures of what is in the car. This is also a GD. I don't know if it helps but maybe will get you at a starting spot.

approx 800kg is probably closer to 900kg = 1950lbs which is approx 500lbs less than stock
i dunno cause this car has a full cage and full dash
that 1000kg stock is pretty exaggerated
removing ALL the seats will still be less that 200 lbs (thats without replacing them)
even a light weight racing seat that is 20lbs will still require a 10lbs seat bracket
im guessing to get the fit down to 2000lbs will require replacing items with lighter weight versions, not just removing parts i.e. lexan, carbon fiber
i have seen a stripped down miata weigh 1600lbs with everything removed (lights, bumper reinforcement, wiring, single seater, no windows of any kind, no roll bar etc) that was only good for autox, not even road race

555sexydrive has some really nice CF Bride buckets in his fit. He's knows quite a bit about the weight of various OEM and after market parts as well.

I posted up a pic here on the forum from when I got it weighed on truck scales. 2100 lbs is my goal. We posted extensively on this...it REALLY should be a sticky:
