how much is an 100k mile fit worth?

I'm looking to buy a FIT

2007 Silver, auto, no mechanical issues, drives good. The hood was keyed, but owner said he'll have it painted before it sells. Price is 7500.

Opinions?

I would suggest a new hood. I'm Sure there is one around at a junkyard or something.

As for the 100k fit... I dont think i would pay over 7k

Thats half the value of the car when it was purchased. And your getting the last portion of the life left in it. The portion that generally if issues were to arise they would arise in this half. I've had my share of used cars. My used hondas always treated me better then the rest by a long shot. But still needed work and attention to keep them in great shape. New is the only way for me now.

I guess the price really depends on the car's condition. My fit was bought new on November of 09' and about 7mo in I have about 23,000 mi on it. In less than a year ill probably rack up about 3 times the avg car's miles. My fit is in perfect condition inside and out but the drivetrain has the maturaity of a 2yr old car.

That's a hell of a lot of miles. I wouldn't buy a used car with that many miles on it, Honda or no. You can get a Fit with a lot fewer miles for a few thousand more, and IMO, it would be worth it.

I agree. The world is full of cars. You can do better than this one, I bet. Of course everything has a value, and the car will eventually sell for whatever it is worth in the marketplace. Remember, though, that the Kelley Blue Book never bought or sold anything. If you are the only buyer, the car is only worth what you are willing to pay.

I'd offer $6k at the most but probably would pass on a car with that many miles even if it were a Honda. I'd go more money if the 100,000-mile service was done by a Honda dealer. Call a Honda dealer and see how much they want for the 100,000-mile service. I'm sure it will be a bunch of bucks. Once they start work, they'll call about some other front-end work or an engine mount, or a leaking transmission seal, or…

Lots of miles+cosmetic work+needs service=$?

Good luck with your search. The Fit is a great little car.

Cheers.

My old f150 was bought with 105,000 miles on it, and the only thing wrong with it in the 4 years of ownership was a faulty master cylinder.

Honda Nuts.

There are a lot of Honda Fanatics around here, in CT. They will pay 5k for a beat-up 1989 Honda of any kind with 200k miles on it. I wouldn't pay over 5k for the car you're looking at... no more warranty, beginning of the end of a car's life, beginning of replacement parts. But, I can guarantee you that someone up here would still pay 8k for that car because it's a Honda.

My friend bought a 2007 sport auto for 9999$ with 24K miles. Was salvage but had the pictures of a minor front end damage. Plenty of life left in that kind of car.

I dont think your deal is all that good to be honest.

If you've read other threads on this site, you'll see that most people are afraid to buy salvage vehicles, even at a great price. They would rather pay $6k more for undamaged 100k car than get a repaired one with 10k on the odometer. It's personal preference. I have one a new 08 and an 09 "salvaged", much cheaper. I love both cars. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another "salvage" vehicle.

Lightbulb 07 fit - 160,000 km. how much is an 100k mile fit worth?

Hi, I'm in Canada. Our 07 LX auto fit has 161,000 kms. or 100,000 miles. We turned down 4500.00 in the Honda dealership (below average condition). I have to get the car from the mechanic today. Work will cost 800.00. Rear tires, oil change, wipers, engine splash guard, brake replacement....nothing out of the ordinary but still a lot of money. Get something with less miles, or pay less. My miles are 85% highway miles.

p.s. Why wasn't the car painted to prepare for sale? No money! If this is the seller's MO, I bet the maintenance is suspect too. I don't know, I like Honda but I saw a Ranger supercab V6 new, on sale for 15,999.00.Cdn. Gave me something to think about.
