Jerk dinged my new FIT

What is wrong with people??? Come out of the grocery store to find the jerk next to me is resting his truck door on my new FIT. PISSED! He said oh sorry... yeah whatever. It left a crease in my front fender. Lucky jerk had his kid with him...I wanted to deck him. Just venting.....

I would have told that jerk he was paying to have it fixed. Did you?

Oh, or maybe...I might have kicked a huge dent in his truck. And then said..."Oh, sorry!"

Try to get it paintless dent removed?

Other than that, park way way out. My family has come to accept this parking method as "the way it's gonna be."

I feel for ya. After a month or so of owning my new GE, I got a door ding right in the contour line on the drivers side rear door.

I actually took it to a paintless dent removal shop and got it repaired for $100. Can't even notice it at all now, looks like new again.

I do the same thing. They all know that when they come with me in my car, that they will be walking quite a distance, lol.

After 2 years, I only have one ding (and it was from a rock on the highway).

I know my fault for parking where I did. I am wearing a giant air boot right now and just couldn't walk that far. I told myself just in and out real quick. Big mistake. Should have sucked up the pain and walked a half mile.

I will try the paintless dent dude. It is very faint but I know it is there.

Why is it always people in trucks or SUVs???? Even if you have a handicapped parking Placard you can't park in a reserved space because of someone parking illegally that is driving a damned truck.... I hate it that firegal has to deal with the same kind of crap from that kind of person.... Hope you aren't out much to get it repaired. I've got a dinged door also.

If it makes you feel any better, I had a lady (suspected) back into me with 400km's on the car, yes 4 0 0 no more zeros... scratched the hell out of the bumper cover on the drivers coner, right down to the plastic. It was a hit and run, happen 4 days after I picked it up!

Not worth claiming on issurance, so... I live with it. F*kN B!tch!

I've got 2 on my passenger side rear door body crease line - about a foot apart. 3000 miles on the car. I was already planning on ordering the wide color-matched factory rub strips online before the dings! Now I have to pay for dent-removal and the dang things...

I really thought I'd luck out - I pay extra for my own carport at my apts. I also park in a fenced employee lot at work. Got first ding at Fry's from a Dodge Ram Crewcab. Second one I actually got at work, it left white paint behind and our service tech trucks are that color. Believe me, they had plenty of space to open their door. But, hey - all I have to remember is that my motorcycle actually got knocked down twice parked in the center of a parking space. Once by a little old lady who left her phone number under my fuel tank keyhole-cover and told her insurance it was her fault (what a sweetheart!) and once by an asshat in an Avalanche at Jack-in-the-Box. He ran, even got chased by a good Samaritan trying to get his plate number for me...

And even though the Fit is a little bitty ol' thing, it's still a lot bigger than that bike was!

Thanks...

Hey - your license plate is like a footnote to my situation, if I was having to make payments I probably wouldn't be able to get the dents removed and the rub strips for even longer! (I'm also planning on getting a custom plate to match my sig...)

our other car was hit in a parking lot, on the passenger side front quarter. Headlight cracked, panel needs replaced, hood was pushed over a couple millimeters out of alignment. But the bumper survived the crash somehow! (we park in the back when we can, but this was at school where the lot is always full, and no other lot is available)

The person drove away and didn't leave a note... nothing.

Not your fault in the least. The person is a worthless self-centered jerk, plain and simple. Looks to me like he's raising his children in his foot steps.

Comp insurance claims are a possibility, based on deductibles. Thing is though, you never saw who did it..

Back in '02-'03, when I got our Acura TL, the dealer would do PDR on all the door dings when I'd bring it in for service. They charged about $35 more for that and the car would always leave looking good. They quit doing that after a while. Anybody ever hear of anything like that?

I always have plenty of door dings because I park wherever it's convenient and don't care that much. I did like that service, though.

Cheers

misconception: rubber strips or moldings is NOT going to prevent dings especially on fenders. lol
