ever watch your car?

so the g/f and i are driving around tonight. a friend calls and says she broke her wrist snowboarding and she needs us to drive her car home for her. so we go pick it up. the g/f is still new to driving 5sp, and has only driven my car. are friends car is a 5sp corolla so i decide to hop in and take the corolla while the g/f stays comfortable driving what she knows. i'm following along, its around 10pm, its dark out, and we're driving on the highway through the city.

has anyone ever driven behind their own car? man. what a wicked looking car. i bought my fit because it looked good, because its a honda, and because it reminded me of my civic hatchback. when we were cruising thought the city i couldn't help but get in other lanes and see the car from all angles. lol. it had a fresh coat of wax on it from the weekend, and it was still shining all sexy clean. seeing a car you like is one thing, but its a completely different feeling when you see your own car driving.

i donno. maybe i'm weird, or a geek in a sense. its something i've never felt, and i have a whole new feeling towards my fit, and i love it even more knowing that i'm driving in THAT car.

anyone else know what i'm talking about?

I know exactly what you mean! When I bought my EP3, my dad drove it home for me ( my first m/t car and he didnt trust me on a 3 hour drive. )
I ended up doing the same thing. switching lanes every few minutes, and even recording it rolling on the freeway. Now I just need to get the gf comfortable with the 5sp so I can have the joy of driving all around it!

I love it how the GE8 looks when I drive behind it. Especially in the corners. Just gives you a sense of appreciation.

It's nice to hear your car from the outside, too. Sounds completely different from when you're sitting behind the wheel, heh.

I haven't followed mine, but I have seen a service techie drive mine up to me once. He looked at me weird when all I did was check it out the entire time.

I once followed a GE8 Sport to work one day and I didn't understand how damn awesome they look. They're really distinctive!

The car DOES look awesome on the road. When a Fit comes up behind me, I'll slow down, just so I can check out the car as it passes me.

Yes I've driven behind my own car a few times. I end up saying "my car looks good" and made me stare at it few times while I'm following and then smiling.

I've never driven behind my own car but whenever I'm walking up to it in the parking lot it's so orgasmic looking LOL. It's 10x sexier than any other car in the lot and I can't stop staring <3 My god I'm a lesbian for my Fit.

something else I notice from a distance is that the wheels look rather large compared to the rest of the car, don't you think so? LOL still orgasmic though <3 hahahaha

Haha, I did the same thing at Honda the other day. I'm thinking to myself, "damn that car looks good."

I like the Fit, but IMO, it's not in a class to command watching. A lambo, yeah, a Honda..no.

Well i was still driving my Fit, but was behind a really reflective car and noticed how aggressive the front end looks.

Sadly I haven't been able to "watch" my car in motion. The only time that counts (I guess) was when a mechanic recently had to move it around into the wheel alignment booth.

I distinctly remember saying... "Damn my car looks nice."

Some Honda's really catch my eyes though such as the 1st generation Civics, CRX, S2000's, NSX and unlike others I think the 1st generation Insight is cool. I'm warming up to the looks of my Fit now, I love how it's 13 inches shorter than the 1994 Sentra SE-R I was cruising around in last year. (see pics below)
