please turn off my lights

I'm with shegetstodriveit. If the ignition isn't on, I have no need for my headlights to be on. And this is not an uncommon feature. Not just Subarus and Toyotas, but Saabs and Volvos too have been set up this way.
As for the warning beebs, can't stand em. In previous cars owned (Volvo wagon & Subaru wagon) I disconnected the "ding-ding-ding" warning chimes that were tied to the keys being left in the ignition. I could then open the door while the keys were in the ignition and not get annoying and incessant "ding ding dings." This let me do things like run the car stereo with the doors open without getting the annoying chimes, or better yet leave my keys in the ignition all the time.

I'm amused by all the people who think having headlights wired into the ignition is a recent feature for luxury cars. Twenty years ago, I bought a base-model Volkswagen Jetta that was set up this way. The car I had before the Fit (a Hyundai Elantra) also had the lights wired thusly. It's not that unusual.
That said, I'd love my Fit's headlights to work the same way, but it doesn't bug me enough to want to start rewiring the car.

I personally wouldn't take em out.
But if your determined to do so, just find the fuse for the DRLs and pull it out, that's it.
