Why wasn't my 2007 Fit Sport equipped with this?

2010 Honda Fit - Photos Interior - Official Honda Web site

The rear seat does fold up but when I look underneath it I don't see the smart storage compartment that Honda included on the 2010 in the link
above.

No one's 2007 Fit Sport was equipped with that. Honda didn't include that feature until 2009.

Thanks, I had a bad feeling that was the case. I just bought the Fit yesterday and noticed the storage compartment on the internet today. I think that's a clever touch and I'm sorry Honda didn't think about it in 2007

Yeah if you want to call the item pictured below "my stash"

I've always made a habit out of hiding valuable electronics in my car.
In fact I have a radar detector that is more than 20 years old because
of that. One other thing I noticed about the Fit too though that is somewhat of a letdown is because there's no ashtray. Because of that I don't see any
good places to store coins in it. I was thinking about just using the compartment near the cupholders, I still prefer an ashtray though.

I have an 09 and honestly have never used the underseat storage. the compartments arent really that big and if someone or something is on the back seats they are impossible to get to. Neat idea but never used.

You might still have the radar because whos gunna steal a 20 year old radar lol.

I wish the 2007's had this little compartment as well. Someone should fab one up and make a diy.

The hoodlums don't discriminate when it comes to that. In fact I'm a runner and I see some interesting sights when I take my morning jogs that just leave me shaking my head. For starters I keep seeing this one Golf owner who leaves his radar detector glued to the windshield while his or her car is parked on the street. And I don't care how freaking cold it is in the morning, I would never leave the keys in my car while the engine is running. The last one I saw even had the driver's door open while it was running with no owner in sight. If you've ever wondered why your insurance premium is so high you might want to ask those people If I had it my way everybody in this country would be required to watch at least 2 episodes of Bait Car! It's a great idea, but really even Honda Japan suggests on its website to use that underseat cubby only for the owner's manual and other related paperwork. It isn't big enough for much else IMO, although if your (Magellan?) sat-nav fits there then why not

I do wish the GDs had that too though!

If anything since the rear seat lifts up so easily, I will stick my Magellan GPS under the rear seat when my car is parked. I already tested it and know it fits easily under it.

The strange thing is I don't want the hidden compartment because of the cops, it's actually the hoodlums who the cops are after
that I really want to hide my stash from

I took my back seats out, but I never used the compartment when I had them in.

And that's what I use it for. It leaves more space in the "glove boxes" for more important stuff, like lint brushes for the "lint magnet" upholstery.

They could make lint brushes from that material, I swear.

I was looking at the back of the front passenger seat today and noticed there's a pocket on the rear of it where I can stash goods such as my GPS or a radar detector. I'm sure the crack heads that break into my car will over look that little detail.

One other thing I wonder about is, can I fold the front passenger seat the way Honda does here (go long mode) 2010 Honda Fit - Seating Modes - Official Honda Web site in the 2007 Fit?
