I really wish the Base model had the keyless entry. I am worried about scratching the doors with the key. I can always try to save up and have it installed later...The only other thing is the paint. From what I have read here it sounds like the paint is poor quality. I have two small chips on my hood after one week. Circuit City may be resonsible but I cannot be sure.
I was distraught for two days about it but I know I gotta get over it. I am waiting for my touch up paint to come in @ the dealer.
Love everything else!!

I added the keyless entry kit from Honda after I purchased my car. Was quite easy to install and now have keyless entry on my base.

I am surprised that nobody has made any complaints about the keyless entry: I got one from the dealer and was pleasently surprised about the new safety feature... if I unlock the car and do not get into it withing abour 30 sec (haven't thought it important enough to time) then the car automatically locks itself. I don't mind this but as I said with all of the complaints I have seen on the website... well

its a great feature. Imagine you are walking away from your car... locked it... then put the key in your pocket? Then accidently push the unlocked button? So the car unlocks it self... and stays that way?

Na, I rather have it lock up again in 30 seconds... that transmitter has an active range of about 50-70 feet (line of site, with fresh batterys. I was bored one day and decided how far I could go).

Yeah, what's the deal with that tranny dipstick? Need a child sized hand to get to the dipstick w/o cutting up your hand.

I think I'm going to weld on an extension.

Maybe it is supposed to be accessed from *under* the car as when it is on a lift? (ha)
My Accord dipstick was not in a very accessable place as well...

Here is my list and so far it is very short:

1. Carpeted floor mats are wearing after only three weeks !
2. No armrest - really like that for long trips
3. Transmission dipstick placement

All in all a great car !

The transmission. I know the American market is resistant to change, but the CVT was the way to go. The automatic shifts constantly and it seems to get self doubts in the middle of shifts and pause. It's definitely the logic because I drive it in S mode a lot and the shifts are really smooth and fast (a lot smoother and faster than I could do with a manual). And the engine responds well with low or high RPM. There's no need for it to be shifting as much as it does or hesitating in the shifts.

OTOH I wouldn't trade my car for anything. I wouldn't take a Ferrari for it. (Well, unless I could sell it, then I'd do so and buy a fit and keep the rest.)

The only thing I don't like, as other people have said, is the driving position.

I wish the driver's seat went back a click or two, even the passenger seat could do this, and I wish the wheel telescoped..

It's just a cramped position sometimes and my ankle gets tired of supporting my leg.

CVT-7 would be excellent
It includes the paddle shifters.

I second this complaint...the 95 Civic that I came from had a perfect seating position. With the Fit, a telescoping wheel would solve this problem...actually, setting the pedals back (toward the front of the car) would be even better. Luckily it is my to/from work driver, not our long distance family vehicle.

"I don't like how the fuel sloashes around. You can hear it each time you go over a speedbump and when negoating parking spots."

HAHA! That freaked me out a little the first time I noticed it.

Ok, what do I not like about the best car I have ever owned (age 28)
Milano Red AT

1. The main thing I notice is that I'd like a little more pickup off the line, not much, I'm no racer, but a touch more get up and go would be nice. It rocks once you get going though!

2. My Girl has made comments on the lack of a mirror on the passenger visor, I don't know what she's complaining about ;p

3. I was futzing around in the back of the hatch the other day and noticed that I *cant'* open the hatch from the back, having alternative opening controls would be nice. **yes I did pop out the little black circle, I just couldn't get it to open and have not thought about it till now, so I have not checked the manual.

4. This one is trite. I'd like more anchor points in the cargo area. I haul random stuff and always have an emergancy bag with me. I drive in long mode or cargo mode as often as possible. It would be nice to be able to secure things to the side's a little easier. Currently I have more bungie cords than any normal person could need!

5. A vaccum!! I have my dog in the car quite a bit, and even when I don't and I make sure to shopvac the car and avoid the dog and cat before I get in. There is always some form of lint or fur or who knows what in the car!
On onother note, I used to drive a Ford Contoure and my dog hated it, he loves the fit! Put it in long mode and roll down the windows, shove the passenger front seat all the way forward. There is nowhere for him to fall down, and he can walk around the whole car. it is a dog friendly car and I have a car loving dog.

-C-

btw: What the heck is a dead peddal? I assume it's an extra pedal that does nothing but gives you the feeling of driving stick, or having a place to put your left foot if you drive with your right only?
Is it comfort, or does it serve a purpose?

I noticed this when my partner was driving. It seems really weird to me, especially since the drivers side has one. While I appreciate and have used it to put on lipstick while driving, I can't say doing so is something I'm really proud of or think Honda ought to be encouraging.

dead peddal is a place to rest your left foot flat on the floor.

All is good except for "I would like better gas milage" mine is about 28-29mpg

Maby a lock on the glove box

The driver's side mirror is a result of the North American Fits being made in the same plant that makes cars for Japan, where they drive on the right. That is one of the things they did not flip for the North American market. In Japan, the mirror is on the left, where the passenger sits. There is a thread on here where there is a small list of items that were not changed. Another that I can remember is that the split back seat was not changed.

Apparently, normally with a split fold-down back seat, the larger section is on the passenger side, and the smaller section is on the driver's side. On our Fits, the opposite it true.

the only thing that i dont like about my honda jazz is the skin of the body, they are so thin and soft. you can see waves on the door skin from certain angles after you give it a wash or polish, it's very agnoring.

Only one complaint that I consider major: gas tank too small. My mpg has improved from 28 to 32.5, but since I have a long commute, I'm stopping at the gas station too often.

I'd also like a telescoping steering wheel so I can sit further back from the dash (because of the air bags). Adjustable seat height and tilt would be nice, but I'm afraid it would drive the price up too much. As with my other Hondas, the seat isn't padded enough to suit me (my daughter's 1991 Camry has a great, adjustable, well-padded seat), so I added a memory foam pillow.

you could always buy a 5-10-15 or even 20 gallon tank and fill it up. Leave it in the house and "fill" up every night.
